  • USEFUL if you keep limitations in mind - quick not long term - 40 degrees Fahrenheit lowest temp
So far so good on the small project I tried it out on - BUT - it is pretty LIGHT WEIGHT. Comparing to basic (not the fancy specialty varieties) duct tape - it is both a little thinner and less sticky - but more inclined to stay smooth and flat. THAT said - it IS ALSO SO much EASIER TO WORK WITH - neatly - on finer detailed projects. You can cut it to a crisp edge - specific angles and CURVES TOO - without the constant "sticking to the cutting blade" (scissors especially) when you try to do the same kind of thing with any duct tape! The paper backing not only makes CUTTING to size easier - it's pretty EASY TO REMOVE THE BACKING PAPER - even for a short fingernails person who usually is driven to frustration over that part of the process. PAINTABLE AND SMOOTH surface is also a great feature - so your repair can LOOK better than even the better quality duct tapes. 40 degree Fahrenheit maximum low temp that it's supposed to work in, however, is a serious drawback for us "northerners". Don't expect it to be a fix for outdoor stuff HERE for longer than 6 months! (It's about 38 degrees here today - and it's only an average mid-November day.) I have NOT YET TRIED using this in combination with duct tape ... Maybe DUCT TAPE could be used like a FRAME AROUND THE VINYL PATCH??? Some applications don't need to be as beautiful as they are WATER PROOF. If the adhesive is the thermal "weak link" of these patches - duct tape might hold them in place despite below 40 degree temps for a few years ... in case you (too!) are a little slow about some repair projects! ... TRY some paint on the tape frame too - for prettier (still temporarily) AND waterproof fix where it counts? (TRUE CONFESSION - Yes I DO have a little missing corner piece of siding which has been "duct taped" for a couple years... NOT pretty - but still sticking!) ... show more

  • Works well
I’m really impressed with these vinyl siding repair patches. I had a few small holes from lawn equipment throwing small stones at my vinyl fence, and these patches blended in much better than I expected. The material feels decent and durable, not flimsy. Installation was simple — just clean the area, peel, and stick. They adhered firmly right away and stayed put through rain and sun so far. The white color match isn’t perfect, but it’s close enough that you really have to look for the repair to notice it. The patches can be trimmed easily with scissors without fraying or losing their adhesive strength. They’re a great quick fix for anyone who doesn’t want to replace whole panels over small damage. These are high-quality, reliable repair patches that make touch-ups fast and stress-free. Definitely worth having on hand for home maintenance. ... show more

  • Inexpensive temporary repair
After my white vinyl fence was installed, the contractor didn't put the post caps on and a sqirrel managed to find it's way down and chewed through the post and the rail to get out. It's been an eyesore since. Add to that, the artificial lawn installers incorrectly sloped my lawn up to meet the fence and drilled holes in the bottom rail. I just had them repair the lawn and level it and now have holes throughout my 50 foot vinyl fence. I will be replacing the bottom rails at some point and these stick on pieces work fine for now. With a batting cage in front and from a distance, the holes are not noticeable unless you look for them. They are noticeable up close, but much better than the gaping holes that were there. I don't see why you would paint them if using on a white vinyl fence. I also didn't work too hard to cut to the hole's size because you can see the seam whether you just cut a square patch, which I found to work better along the edge of the post and rails. You can see the patches don't lay exactly flat on some holes in the fence. After pulling screws there is a rough edge and if it bothers me enough, I will remove the patch, sand the holes flat and put a new repair piece on top which would make them less noticeable. They are cheap enough just under $5 for 20 pieces. I only used 2-1/2 pieces for all the holes in my fence, so definitely a good value for a temporary repair. Consider that they are really just very sticky white stickers, like the round piece you get to cover screws and bolts on build it yourself furniture. I did just put a white cabinet together in the bathroom that had two 1/2 inch holes with silver bolts inside that these covered nicely as well. ... show more

  • repaired visible damage to my camper walls and also vinyl house siding
These patches worked out great for covering some blemishes on the 5th wheel RV I own in which a mishap from the past happened with stones coming at it from a mower. This sealed those over just fine and I was able to tidy up the appearance of where they were a bit of an eyesore prior. I also had some leftover and decided to use them onto the skirting of my home where there were some dings. 20 pieces were more than enough to cover up what I needed to and I wouldn't hesitate to pick up another pack of this siding repair tape when after I use up the first set. ... show more

  • Decent temporary repair
We had a hail storm that punched a few holes in my siding. While waiting for the insurance adjuster, I needed something to keep rain and critters out of the holes. I'd used packing tape previously, but the sun would dry it out and it would peel off fairly quickly. These patches seem to last longer (so far) than the packing tape repair. They are not designed to be a permanent repair, but so far seem to hold up OK. I hope they will last at least until the insurance company cuts the check. Who knows when that will be. The biggest issue so far is peeling the backing from the vinyl patch. The backing doesn't have a "split" where you can fold the patch and get the split to break, thus allowing it to be removed easily. It took a full 3-4 minutes of fussing with the patch to finally get the backing to peel away. In this day and age of easy-to-remove split backings, one shouldn't have to fuss and fiddle for several minutes to get backing to peel off. Removed a star for this reason. ... show more
