This is a really nice set of kitchen knives at a very economical price! I don’t particularly like the look of the light-colored pine-like wood block or the white handles on the four steak knives; but that is my personal taste and I’m sure many others will like those things. What matters most to everyone is what kind of knives these are and is their utility in your kitchen, how they feel in your hand, and what is the quality of the steel? The selection is pretty decent and will meet most kitchen needs. Included are three 8-inch preparation knives, including a chef knife, a bread knife, and a slicing knife. In addition a 4-1/2 inch utility knife and 4- inch paring knife. All have very nice ergonomic black handles that fit the hand well, offering a comfortable grip. The steel is quality German stainless, thick and sufficiently rigid, with well designed cutting edges. I liked the dropped-edge right where the handles are fitted to the blade. They’ll keep your fingers from accidently moving onto the cutting blade. In addition, all the knives, including the four steak knives include point protectors which are easily removeable or installed. The bread knife and the four steak knives have serrated blades and the steak knives are fitted with distinguishing white, well shaped handles. The wood storage block works well and is fitted with four pads to protect your counter top. It looks a little narrow, but it is stable and not inclined to tip. Included with this fine cutlery set are five large and five small measuring spoons, each set organized on rings that easily snap open and closed. It was a cute kitchen knife set with black and white knife handles. One issue I had was a loose handle on one of the smaller knives, but other than that these got the job done. I didn’t have high expectations for a $20 knife set, I just wanted something with some decent knives. The knives certainly aren’t German as the description states, they are made in China. I was surprised that they were pretty decent though. They have plastic handles, and it’s obvious that it's not a high dollar set, but what can one expect for $20?
