  • Better than expected
Look here's the deal. If you're looking for pro grade equipment with heavy duty casings that can take abuse, you're totally in the wrong price bracket. I'm a part time musician/DJ with 30+ years experience and over the years I have accumulated and paid a lot of money for higher end equipment. It doesn't take a whole lot of research to see the price difference with Yamaha or Peavy comparisons and those are being assembled overseas as well. So what's the difference? The biggest and most obvious difference to me is in the cabinets. They're made from MDF ( just like 99% of others ) just a little thinner. They just won't hold up to abuse that a thicker, heavier cabinet would. BUT They are blocked, braced and glued together well. The carpet is rather thin and I wouldn't even consider getting them rained on in an outdoor venue but overall, the fit and finish is nice. They can also handle a lot of power if you have it. So how's the sound? *The Subs * Don't think you're going to vibrate the walls down. People hear "subs" and usually expect too much. These are really here for low end re enforcement. These are 15" ported cabinets and they do perform better if you have an equalizer with a tunable sub output. There is no crossover in these sub boxes. I ran these subs in between the two mains that I had mounted on tripods and found them to perform much better in dance floor situation. Overall, they performed well and added a greater presence for sure. They are not 18's in a folded cabinet. Rockville has other options if you're in need of bass heavy specs. * The Mains * Holy crap these things are LOUD. In a good way ! If you are thinking about speakers and you might use them for an outdoor venue, do yourself a favor and get a three way ( woofer/horn/tweeter ) speaker system like this. You simply cannot get the range and clarity out of a two way ( woofer/tweeter ). I had to dial the mids waaaay back for indoors but I'd rather have too much than not enough. Lows were ok and highs were good. For a lightweight cabinet, these really do have a good sound. They are not as rich sounding as the JBL prx15's but they are also nowhere near the price. Again, I definitely recommend a graphic equalizer to be able to tune these to your specs. Overall, if you treat your equipment with respect like I do, these are a GREAT low cost option for sound reinforcement. I purchased these as a secondary DJ/PA setup so that I could keep some of my equipment at home and I couldn't be happier. And no, I don't work for them. I paid full price. No discounts and no B.S. I really am just a happy customer. ... show more

  • Great Sound for a great price.
I have used this sound set up twice now. So far it does great things. It has clear sound, both highs and lows really come through. I mainly use this set up for DJing school dances. The students have noticed a difference and they really like it. I paired the speakers with a Rockville RPM870. I puts out the power and the speakers handle it perfectly. The only thing I did not enjoy is how much the speakers wobble while set up on the subs. For an ease of mind im going to get speaker stands for the uppers. ... show more

  • The "Pro" reviews said they were crap but many of the customer reviews said they were ...
Last spring I picked up a Pair of Rockville RSG-15 along with a pair of Passive Pro Subwoofers. The "Pro" reviews said they were crap but many of the customer reviews said they were great so I thought I would chance it. I have used them in 4 gigs as of this post (both outside and inside) powered with a Yamaha EMX660 head and the customer's reviews were accurate. They have a great sound on the highs and kick-ass bass. Not expensive either. I took one star off because I found the construction of the cabs to be a bit flimsy but I am ok with it because I am careful with load in, set up, and load outs. ... show more

  • Missing the poles to my speakers!!!!
The media could not be loaded. I got the speakers and they sound good and full so can’t complain about the price, but the poles that connect the top speaker to the subwoofer never came in and the UPS tracker said it was damaged and being returned to sender. It’s been several days now and they haven’t sent anything. I understand you get what you pay for but can I PLEASE get WHAT I paid for! ... show more

  • Great Passive Speakers
These worked out great! I’m a complete newbie with this type of audio set up and I was able to set it all up after I paired it with the powered subwoofer and included a mixer. They look great and super professional. The sound is great for open or closed venues. I’m very happy with this purchase!

  • Great sound but they wobble on the stands.
I reached out to the seller to find out if it was normal for the speakers to wobble on the stands that came with the speakers and have not received any correspondence so I'm leaning towards sending them back. They lean forward when on the stands and I don't want the holders on the inside of the speakers to break because of the weight. Does anyone else have this issue? I mean they sound great, but they don't seem stable to me when on the stands. ... show more
