So instead of replacing the entire light unit I came upon this and bought the two pack. I had one sensor that was unreliable and a second that came on day or night with motion. Replaced both easily but found the wire nuts provided were a little small for the neutral wires. I will say the wires provided are black, white, and yellow. The ones in my light were standard black, white, and red. If yours is the same, the yellow goes to the red. The adjustment settings are either test (deactivates the photo cell and turns light on), Auto with a timer of 1 to up to 10 minutes, and a “D2D” setting which will turn the light on at dusk and off at sunrise. I had 2 outside wall LED lights, which only have a light detector ti switch at dawn/night. I used these motion sensors to add this functionality. Had to drill the holes to install them nicely on the base plates of the lights. Worked perfectly now, so the LED lights don't come up at dawn/night unless there is a motion detected. ... show more

These are great and the manual override is a must which is missing on most security lights. I recently bought some new security lights and I was surprised the manual override feature was missing. I searched for about an hour on Amazon for security lights with this manual override feature, but could not find any. I did however find these motion detector replacements and saw they had this feature. I ordered the 2 pack. They were very easy to replace (I took the existing light unit down to do the replacement on a table). They are working great, and the manual override works as advertised (turn off for 2 seconds, then turn back on and they stay on until dawn ... or turn switch off for about 8 seconds then turn back on, then they will turn back off shortly and resume normal motion detection mode). I did notice after I purchased these, they have a 240 degree model which I would have preferred for an outside corner installation. ... show more

    • Work fine, but the screw threads did not seat well in the original metal fixture

We had a motion light system where the original detection head failed and would keep the lights on all the time. It seemed that all the hardware stores have moved to motion light systems that use un-serviceable LED panels. I wanted to keep my original fixtures so that I can easily replace the par-38 bulb when necessary. I don't trust those LED panels to last very long. So replacing just the head was a great plan. These generally worked as advertised. But the thread that screws this new head into to the old fixture was too lose. If I tightened it too much, it would just slip the threads. So I've got it installed with the head as tight as I could get without it slipping. We'll see if that holds through all the weather changes. If not they I'll have to climb the ladder again and glue it in place with some caulk. ... show more

You should know that this device has a red LED that shows in the IR window when it detects movement. In some situations a person might not want that though it doesn't bother me.
