After viewing the latest bridge collapse I decided to update my OUTDATED safety hammer I have in our two vehicles. The two devices come with a piece of glass to test the hammer...ingenious idea! Years ago I purchased another style safety hammer and it never came with sample glass to test device. The glass samples is a GREAT selling point as you really don't know it's going to work if you can't try it out first - so kudos who thought of this! This nifty device will cut through your seat belt as well. I noticed one of the other reviewers stated they marked the window punch end with whiteout. I plan on doing the same with either white nail polish or a reflector type paint - in an emergency if your vehicle has plunged in to water it may be easier to see the highlighted end of the safety hammer in a PANIC situation. Hopefully never need to actually use it, but knowing it's there if a window or seatbelt situation comes up is worth it. Getting two in one pack made it easy to cover both cars at once. I’ve seen a lot of window breakers before, but I’m gonna tell you this thing is fantastic. They even give you a sample to test it on to see how it breaks the glass. I feel a lot more confident and safe in my car now knowing I can get out if I need to and it also cut the seatbelt if needed.

I am impressed with this product. It took me a little while to figure out the instructions, but after a while I got it. I was particularly impressed and pleased that they included two pieces of tempered glass in the package. This created an opportunity to practice with both units in order that one not panic when they are in the situation where they need to use them. I should have put something under the glass so that when it shattered I could easily scoop up the pieces. I could not believe how well it worked! I wanted to buy these for two reasons: (1) if the electric system goes out so that the windows cannot be operated, here is the chance to get out of the car; (2) this device does not require physical strength to break the window, so as to get out through the opening. I found this device to be very ingenious and I’m happy I bought it and will keep it in my car. Hopefully, I’ll never need to use them. I was thinking it would be a good idea to give these his gifts. I intend to do so. So, based on my experience, I highly recommend these. I only hope all of us will never need to use them. ... show more
