These locks work great on replacing the locks on my little safe. They are pretty easy to install, and since I have two locks on my safe it's nice that you can open one lock, remove the key and use it on lock #2 and then remove the key if you want to. Update to my previous review below: Seller contacted me after reading my unsatisfactory review and wanted to make it right. They offered me either a refund or another set to try. I opted for another set. Big kudos to the seller for standing behind their product! Coincidentally, perhaps, I received the same key code set as before, which made it easier to just replace the one that stripped on me before versus having to redo them all. After careful inspection, the main body material is weaker than the lock nut itself. I would recommend grabbing another bolt from the hardware store and threading the lock nut onto it first to cut through the Nylon before installing it onto the locks. This may reduce the potential of stripping the weaker threads of the main body. Original review: The locks look nice, and installation was straight forward, BUT! ... I purchased them to replace my old truck's locks for the bed's tonneau cover. I like that they are fairly flush and not very noticeable. However, the material they are made of seems to be very cheap and light weight. The threads are prone to striping very easily without much effort, just like other reviewers have mentioned. I was able to install one being super careful, but the second one unfortunately stripped in the middle (yes, middle, not on the ends!) while putting on the final locking nut. Wasn't even able to get it to any tightening spot. Don't cheap out, by proper ones instead! ... show more

I have a lock box that the key was broken off. I was going to take the lock to a locksmith to get the stub removed and a new key made. For less money than a trip to the locksmith I got a round key which is much stronger than a flat key and a new lock. I am very happy.

Installed the 1 1/8 lock on a DEEZEE 5th Wheel truck box 60X24X19 approximately. / Note: Required some custom fabrication but it works great. So I just received the lock today and decided to install today to make sure it would work. Removed the old lock, and put this one in. I had to cut the straight tab, ad a washer, and use the middle hole to make it line up. 7/8in of the end of the tab needs to be cut off and the end filed and smoothed out before installing the locking arm. SEE PICTURES. Mind you this is only if you are installing on a DEEZEE 5th wheel large truck box. I don't know if these mods are good for any other box. Secondly, DO NOT overtighten the lock nut on the end that keeps the locking arm on. It will strip with too much tightening....even though I cant get 2 threads to show at the end. I would recommend finding a shorter nut with the same thread pattern and using Loctite. Overall it was cheaper than ordering a replacement key from DEEZEE for $14-$15 (which I still might just do because of their particular lock design). ... show more
