These look to be of good quality, strong and sturdy. However, I dont have the tools to install them. Im afraid of breaking the tile if I try to install them myself.     • Good for more than just the bathrooms!
I actually had these grab bars mounted outside on the trailer side of my deck stairs. I am constantly fussing at my elderly mom to hold on to the railing when she goes up sand down the stairs, but we only have hand rails on one side since the stairs butt up against the wall of the trailer on the other side. I got these grab bars specifically because they were stainless steel and were going to be out in the weather. I had my son put a good sturdy piece of board up nailed to the studs of the wall and he then secured the grab bars in a row on this board. It seemed pretty easy for him to attach them. The only complaints I have is the caps that cover the mounting hardware don't seem as well made as the bars themselves. I really like the rubber grips on these bars, that way mom's hands won't slip while using them. These bars have been a great success, I use them as well. ... show more

    • More for stability vs. taking a lot of weight
The metal itself is fairly strong, and I like the look. The instructions are a little ambiguous on how to attach the base to the handle. If you think of the base as being a very long, shallow "U" shape, the open part should face away from the handle. I used a 1/4" drill bit to create holes in the wall. The screws are not very long, so even if you find a stud most of the screw will be in the sheetrock, not the stud. So these handles should be thought of as providing stability as opposed to being able to support a lot of weight. One problem is that one of the lids was sliding off after installation. They are designed to slid onto the base and be held by friction, for some reason it kept sliding off. ... show more

    • Strong and Functional When Properly Mounted
These grab bars seem a little on the smaller size since the tubing is 1” diameter. However, this is a good size especially for smaller bathrooms. The silicone grips are non-slip and easy to grab. The bars are very strong, but the plastic wall anchors alone are too weak for mounting them. Fortunately, the mounting plates for the bars can be oriented so 2 of the 3 holes are in line so longer screws can secure 2 holes into a wall stud while the 3rd hole uses a plastic anchor. This mounting method is strong enough to resist a 550 lb pull. I mounted these grab bars next to the toilet in a smaller water closet where they fit perfectly and look like they belong there. If you are careful to properly secure them to the wall, these bars are attractive and functional. ... show more

    • Sturdy
For those of us who need help getting in and out of the shower, or up and down off the toilet, or even just moving more safely around the house, these bars are perfect. Great weight-bearing capacity and a nice rubber grip make them good and secure.

    • Very nice
Quick and Easy to install, with a nice grip! I installed these for my mother and they are working out great. The grip is nice therefore not rough on her hands. Has a decent design with enough space between the wall and the grab bar. Well made and looks great. 5 stars for these!!

No real complaints. They are sturdier than comparable bars you can find at your local hardware store. Also much cheaper! They are easy to put together and come in a surprisingly small package. I don't love the stainless 304 stamps on the escutcheons, but they are totally adequate. I don't recommend using the drywall anchors that come with them, as they are sort of crap. But regular drywall anchors from h**e d****t worked just great. ... show more
