  • a must for dogs who pull and dog owners who hate walking their dogs in fear of falling on their face
Size: LG (Chest 28" - 32") Color: Tan
For the longest time I have dreaded taking my two year old Great Pyrenees on walks because he is easily excitable and loves to pull on the leash. The thought of leash training felt impossible with how hyperactive he was. This harness/leash combo saved my sanity and made leash training so much more enjoyable for us both. It has only been three days since we started using this and we have seen a HUGE improvement in his pulling already. He's a relatively skinny Pyrenees so the L size fit him perfectly. It is very well made and easily adjustable. I also like how the part that goes around his front legpits is not made of the same material as the rest of the harness that would otherwise dig in and cause some irritation and pain. It is made of a more velvety material that is soft to the touch and likely prevents any digging in! I also love how the leash attaches at two points, making it easier to correct pulling behavior when it happens. Highly, highly recommend, and will be getting more for my smaller dogs as well. ... show more

  • Stops puppies from pulling and choking!
Size: 1" MD (Chest 24" - 28") Color: Tan
We bought this because our puppy's dog trainer recommended it to stop her pulling - and to stop her choking herself while pulling while wearing a regular collar and leash. It works! She still tries to pull when she gets excited, but using the 2 clip system allows me to pull her chest toward me, which lessens her pulling the opposite way. We thought we bought the wrong size at first because we couldn't get it to fit our puppy, but it just needed more adjusting. We have velcroed her poop bag holder on one side, which is great too. Zero complaints about this harness and leash combo. We've had it over a month and love it. ... show more

  • Great ‘no pull’ but leash is short
Size: 1" MD (Chest 24" - 28") Color: Navy
I worked at shelters and learned how important a ‘no pull’ harness is. One of the things most dogs are unable to escape from. And having adopted reactive dogs from the shelter I wanted to make sure to keep them as safe as possible which means making sure they are always secure under lead. I originally used the brand halter lead, but I was not a fan how the neck strap could tighten. I then tried sporn, but while it worked great the strap that tightens when pulled is just a string. Over time it rubbed the hair off my dogs back. The times my dog reacted it also wasn’t the best at trying to turn the dog to face away from what they were triggered by. Another coworker told me about freedom halters and it’s perfect. Great fit. Doesn’t choke the dog. I like the straps spreading the weight out. The pulling strap limits the how much it can tighten like a martingale collar. Plus the duel clips on front and back make it easy to direct the dog away from something that the dog maybe upset by. Them pulling toward it redirects them to the side, making it so you can get their attention easier. My two issues are, on the halter one of the strap/corners that change the angle for it to go under the dog is a little awkward fit for my bully shaped dog. Time will tell if this bothers him. The other issue is the optional leash. I like how it splits, but the handle strap is cheap and uncomfortable to hold. Also really short. I take my dog on walks to smell things. I had to hover awkwardly over him with my arm stretched the entire time if he wasn’t perfectly heeling. But you can add an additional (short) leash to the handle clip so it will be a easy fix ... show more

  • A Game Changer for a pulling pup!!!
Size: 1" MD (Chest 24" - 28") Color: Turquoise
This harness makes leash training a young dog much easier. I tried other methods and harness'/leashes that I have used in the past. They didn't work on my new dog. The Freedom Harness was recommended on the rescue group' page that I adopted her from. So, I gave it a try. And on the very first walk using it I notices a huge difference. With a little more leash training, my new dog will be a perfect walking companion for me. It may take a bit to adjust to fit you dog, but it is worth it. Thank you Freedom Harness!!! ... show more

  • I got the result I was hoping for
Size: 1" MD (Chest 24" - 28") Color: Orange
We have 2 dogs. A 4 yr old Siberian Husky and a 10 yr old Chow/GSD mix. I read about this harness and thought I would give it a try. My Husky is the worst, although both of them always seem to be on a mission when we walk out of the door and even though we are going nowhere specific, they can't get where we are going fast enough. They are in such a rush and super excited, that it makes the walks not so pleasant. Neither of them have aggression issues. I decided to try it out on my Husky first. Husky = Sled Dog = Pulling! It's in their blood --- that's what they are bred for, but out of safety reasons, I think they should also learn how to walk nice. Years ago, I tried the easy walk dog harness. Worked a little on my Chow, but didn't work at all for my husky. So I was a bit skeptical about this one. The easy walk harness still allowed our husky to pull sideways, and I never got it to fit right. The front would always loosen up after a few pulls and hang down and there was no security after it got loose everywhere, it also did not really turn them around, there was little to no control. Up until yesterday, the only way to walk the husky safely was with a prong collar. And I hated that thing, and I am sure she hated it too! So the harness arrived yesterday. She has a 27" girth and I got the L and it fits perfect. Sizing was easy. Putting it on was easy as well. And wow........... it looks really nice!!!! I got her the raspberry. Very pretty!!! Very sturdy material and hooks. So first impression was very good! So we just walked outside for a minute for a quick test. The neighbor was out with his dog and my girl did not pull to get there. I was still not convinced though, could be a coincidence :D. So a little later we were ready to go for a real walk. Did she pull? Yes she did! Not as strong as in a regular collar, but there was pulling. So what did I do? Each time she pulled I turned around and walked a few steps in the opposite direction. The harness helped turning her around to follow me. Then we turned around again and kept going in the previous direction. She pulled again, I turned around walked a few steps in the opposite direction, she followed, we turned back to keep going. Now we had to do that (I didn't count) probably about 20-30 times on the first part of our walk. She seemed a bit confused about what was going on, but she had a smile on her face and happily let me guide her. After about 20 minutes I think she had it all figured out! Pulling makes her turn around and further away from where she wants to go. Let me mention that she is an extremely independent and stubborn dog!!!! (Most husky's are and I know there are some other stubborn, hard to train dog breeds as well) For her, catching on within about 20 minutes was AMAZING, not that she is dumb, but she usually tries to get things her way!!!! I tried the turn around technique so many times with many different collars and harness and it never worked with my husky!!! If I switched direction she just started pulling in the other direction and we got no where.... I constantly just walked in a circle getting pulled over and over again and going nowhere! I don't know if it is this harness or just because she is getting older and out of the crazy puppy stage. But she can still be pretty crazy. I could not believe how nice and relaxing our walk home was. I constantly repeated myself telling her what a good girl she was and how proud I am of her and she just trotted next to me with a smile, probably thinking "Lady - shut up already" :D :D There were a few minor hick ups on the way back when she smelled something in a bush and she wanted to go check it out, but it was easy to correct her and over all it was pure awesomeness!!! I just had to pull on the leash a bit and she relaxed, turning around and walking in the opposite direction was not necessary. This is not a magic tool, you can't expect it to magically stop your dog from pulling. I would suggest to do what I did and walk in the other direction when they pull. You will have to be quicker than your dog and convince them that pulling doesn't work, before they figure out that they can still pull by shifting their body weight a certain way. So just start turning the other direction right away if they pull. I also don't know if this is the right solution if you have a dog with aggression issues. Its definitely sturdy though. I am pretty sure that I will have to practice a few more times on the next few times. I am sure she forgets what she learned :D, but I am convinced that all our walks will be nice and relaxed in the future. I will order another one for my chow mix now. He has a 37" girth and I was a little confused when I looked at the size charts. Sometimes the sizes say XL: 30-38" and sometimes it says XL: 30-36". When I received my L harness it had a tag and a pamphlet with a size chart. The tag said 30-36" and the pamphlet said 30-38". So I contacted the seller and she talked to a representative and they confirmed that they changed the sizes and the XL is now 30-36". I will also upload a picture of the updated size chart from 2 hounds design. ... show more
