Beautiful colors. Bought the 5.5bag. I wish the 5.5 lbbag had a zip closing as I see pictures of the 2.5lb bag. Because ince you open it uou will gave to mive the rocks to a container that you can close. After rising the rocks a few times you could see the color come through. The colors are really beautiful and perfect nutrients for cacti. After letting the rocks dry over night I checked in the morning and the colors were still there. Will definitely buy it again as my cacti collection grows.

Particle size: The 1/8”-1/4” range is exactly as advertised — consistent sizing with a good mix of rock/gravel for drainage without being so chunky it destabilizes smaller plants. Great for both mixing into potting soil and as a top dressing. Dust/cleanliness: This was a pleasant surprise — a lot of gritty mixes are dusty straight out of the bag and need multiple rinses. This one was noticeably cleaner, and one quick rinse was enough before use. Drainage: Does what it promises — water moves through fast, no pooling, which is exactly what you want for succulents/cacti or aroids like alocasia that hate wet feet. Only wish: It doesn’t come with any slow-release fertilizer mixed in, so you’ll want to add your own if your plants need a nutrient boost. Not a dealbreaker, just something to plan for.

Wow I’m so happy with this grit ! It’s organic with a very nice array of colors. I’ve always bought bonsai jack though this is every bit as nice . It can be used straight up or as an additive to any soil scheme you choose. It’s a great price for two lbs and no dusty mess . I will definitely buy this again saving half the money of other brand .

I use this for mammalaria, lophs, and several other my cacti. It has zero sand in it which is alot neater than a sandy mix. This has zeolite, maifatanum, pumice and I believe one or two others I can't recall. These are all mineral rocks but on it so won't settle. Fast drain! Aesthetically appealing! For small lophs and other slow growing, very small root structures, to I add a bit of bone meal and earthworm castings in there to provide more of an amalgamation for mini-roots. I would have given it a five because it's also very clean but the small bag is about 1 1/2 cactis worth. I mixed it with more pumice to and some 1/16" akadama. Good product!

I love how this bonsai mix of beautiful colored lightweight stones complements a wide variety of plants. It looks gorgeous next to so many colors and makes them pop! It is lightweight and airy so it does not hold moisture into the soil. I love placing it under the edges of the agave pups to protect them from wet soil, which can cause rot. It is a beautiful amendment for cactus, euphorbia, agave, aloe, or just about any succulent. I love that the tiny stones are lightweight enough that the pups can still work their way up through the soil and it is not too heavy to stop them from emerging. When I first opened the bag, I didn't notice any type of smell, and I was able to use it right out of the bag without feeling the need to wash it. As I got almost to the bottom of the bag, I did notice that there was quite a bit of dust that had settled to the bottom, so I dumped it into a wire strainer and rinsed it in the sink. It was only about the bottom 2 inches of the bag that seemed to be dusty, not the whole thing, and not enough to stop me from buying it again. I loved it so much, I bought a second bag!

Got a new escherevia and needed to be repotted. This gritty mix is great. She is thriving in it, even after being in organic soil. Definitely rinse well cause the dust in it will clog up drainage holes.
