This shoe was acceptable. Not near as good a feel as the 609's that I previously had that they no longer make, but hopefully they will do and last as long as the 609's. I have read other reviews of Newbalance in general and it sounds like quality has decreased since I bought the 2-pair of 609's almost 5 years ago. They wore like iron and were very comfortable. While my initial review as acceptable, in the recent past I discovered that Newbalance had simply glued a tred that is a little over 1/8th inch thick to the bottom of the shoe. This tred is also a two piece tred and it can and does come loose. Since I have junked the 609's that served me well for years I cannot look at them to see if they also had a glued tred. In any case I am very disappointed in the 411'S and would not recommend that anyone buy them. My initial review of 4 stars has been reduced to 1 star. New Balance should look at this approach to selling cheap, low quality shoes that fall apart and determine if the loss in customers that will occur for making a poor produce is what they want to achieve as a company.

I read a lot of the negative reviews about these shoes and was a little nervous but bought them anyway. I can honestly say all the negative things I read were completely wrong in my case. The comfort right out of the box was perfect, as I would expect. I have been wearing New Balance for many years and have rarely if ever been disappointed. The fit was perfect too. Soon after I put them on, I went for a 25-minute walk. They felt great with no break in needed. This was despite the fact that I had a large open blister on the back of my foot due to a walk with another pair of shoes. Another negative thing I read was that the shoes were too heavy. I definitely did not find this to be the case. They were as light as I expected. I am very happy with the purchase and would buy them again.

If your feet/ ankles tend to pronate, DON'T buy these shoes. I bought them as work shoes because I walk on a concrete floor all day. They are comfortable enough bu the first time I fell wearing these shoes I just thought it was an accident, the second time coincidence but the third time that the sole gave way and I found myself on the ground, I knew it was these shoes. I also have a pair of Nike Monarch that I wear interchangeably and have never fallen while wearing them. This all took place on a flat surface concrete floor.

I take daily walks and this is my third pair of the same shoes. My guess is that the pair I just replaced lasted about 500 miles before the seams started giving way which prompted the new purchase. The old ones were superbly comfortable. The new ones still feel a bit stiff but I suspect that they will break in nicely. Wonderful product.

Really comfortable shoe with 1 major problem When I buy these shoes there is one thing I know I have to do and that is buy new shoe laces that are actually long enough to fit the shoe. And I don't mean that its like an inch or two too short it is several inch's too short every single pair that I have bought for years. It's getting 1 star cause it's dumb that they can't see this. New Balance is too big and good of a company to make such a mistake.

Worst shoes ever purchased. Really disappointed with these shoes. Bought it for my everyday working shoes. Thought it was going to be comfortable but they fit really small. Laces had to be loosen up a lot to fit. Can barely tie the laces up because it hurts my ankles when I do. Please avoid if you can.
