Purchased the 2.0 cubic safe for use to store some firearm ammunition and some paperwork too. First off, there is 4 mounting holes in the safe, 2 on the back, 2 on the bottom. Unless you use thick bolts with washers to plug them up, it's 4 spots that fire can get into the safe. Second, the hinges and design are very cheesy, when the door is closed, there is another gap that's not sealed where fire can penetrate, I shined a light from the inside and you can see it coming through the gap, and this is on the top and bottom of the door. Last, the entire enclosure is maybe 1/8 thick metal, wouldn't take much to cut, pry, or bash this safe until it opens. I guess for $139 seems like a good deal, but you get what you pay for, and being I have a bad back due to an injury, to have to try and pack this back up, and carry it to an Amazon return center is too much on me. Hoping Amazon or the seller will do the right thing to compensate in some other way. Bottom line, if your thinking of buying this to really protect valuable items from being stolen or protected from God forbid a house fire, I would definitely spend more money on a better brand name safe. The only thing that might be fireproof on this safe is the envelope pouch it comes with, and I wouldn't put too much trust in that either!! ... show more

Brand new batteries and couldn't get the light to come on, which meant I couldn't set a code, which meant it was unusable. Battery plate cover is super cheap. Safe itself is nice and definitely a you get what you pay for (meaning, its sturdy enough and probably does its job...IF you can get it to even turn on, which I wasn't able to do). Sending it back and will have to opt for a pricier model (assuming a heftier price = operational). ... show more
