It charged for a few seconds then did not for another few sconds then it charged for awhile. It was like a short in the connection. It was useless.     • Major Overheat problem
I had problems with it within the first couple days of owning it. At first it made me think there was something wrong with my new computer. The input and output matched what my computer states, and the seller assured me it would work, but it was overworking my computer. When I would use this cord my computer would get super hot and the fan would run excessively, and eventually the charger would start to connect and disconnect over and over. When I went to check if the cord was plugged in all the way, I burned my hand by just touching the adapter box it had gotten so hot, and I could very clearly smell burning plastic from within it. I don't know if the i/o values they give on the product are incorrect or what, but it certainly didn't work for me ... show more

    • Good charger for a reasonable price
Works great for me. I bought this to replace me original charger. I have been using it daily for the last two weeks for my laptop in use for 10-12 hours every day with no problems. The label side does get warm so I make sure that it is positioned so that air can flow over it. I have noticed that this charger does charge faster than the original charger. I was smart enough to read the description and see that there is a heat sink inside the charger. Those only work if the heat has somewhere outside in the box to go. For those that say the charger over heated, they probably did not let it breath so it cooked itself. It stopped working when I was doing an assighnment. Started switching on and off. I thought it was the outlet or port but. It's just a bad quality charger. After it started doing the on and off thing. It go super hot, to where the info sticker came off. Peace of junk. Yes its 15 bucks but now I have to get another one after a month of use and 11 charges including its death. I know it was 11 charges because I charged it my computer from almost dead to fully charged before loading my assignments and taking it to class. 11 time only.     • Good Cheap HP Laptop Replacement Charger
I got this charger yesterday, so I can't comment on its durability, but the plug fits my laptop, and it does charge the laptop quickly. The cord is long enough for me, BUT I will say that the cord from the charger brick to the laptop is very short, about 3 1/2 feet. why does that matter? Well it means you can't put the charger on the floor while you have your laptop on the table. You'll have to put the charger brick on your table or desk. If your laptop is going to be on your lap, it probably doesn't matter for you. I am just using this as a spare to put in my laptop bag, so I don't care considering it was only $15.     • It works but...
I’ve had this charger for about 10 months now. There are two problems with it: 1) The two pieces that connect to each other are loose and do not stay connected. I can’t leave the cord hanging off my desk or the two parts will disconnect from each other. 2) The “block” part of the charger gets hot after a couple of minutes of using the charger. It gets so hot to the point that the sticker on it has now bubbled up and is melting off. Other than that, for what it costs, I kept it because it still works! This product seemed to work well and was not used a great deal as it was a secondary charger for when I brought my work computer home. My wife and I were moving a carpet and noticed an area of our hardwood floor in a rectangular shape that had been stripped of it’s lacquer. On inspection, noted the charger which was thankfully unplugged was the culprit. It could have been way worse. Amazon, this at least the second review that I have seen with photo’s.
