I'm too cheap to go to a salon and have experimented with different nail techniques at home. I actually love this set. The directions were simple and it was very easy to apply. I feel like I got a salon quality manicure for a fraction of the price. However, they do chip easily. I can't stand a chipped nail so whenever one chips, I peel the entire polish off. It did pop right off which was great. Going on day 3, I have 4 of my nails still on. The 4 that are left do still look amazing! Sorry for the long review but please read if you are a beginner or thinking of purchasing. So first things first.. this kit is amazing. I was home sick from work and thought I would give it a shot. However, I've been doing my own dip nails for about 2 years now and have not had very much luck on any kits I have purchased as far as durability. Thus kit was very easy to use. The dips are very good quality and dipped very evenly which is something I have never had before. As far as the colors, only one of mine didn't match the picture BUT it wasn't too far off and honestly made this set look better I feel. You do get more than enough dip so this will last a while as far as the powder. Now to the cons.. there isn't much gel, brush saver, or base so that will have to be something you purchase yourself if you want more. I also wasn't a very big fan of the file or buffing block so I used my own that I had. This also doesn't come with tips if you want to lengthen your nails but all of those individually are pretty cheap if you order from Amazon in bulk. The top gel is very nice and shiny.. but due to a couple mistakes I made it did take 2 coats to cover scratches on my nails and also took 4 attempts to cure. Which is another con, it gives you a UV top coat but not a light, however I'm not sure it's needed.. I just chose to in order to speed up the process. I'm not sure of the durability of these because I literally just put them on an hour before making the review.. but they seem fairly strong like you would get at a salon. I only used 2 coats of dip and they aren't sheer and they are sturdy but that's a personal preference of how much you want to use. Overall I think this kit is wonderful and for me the pros outweigh the cons. But I don't feel like it's very beginner friendly just because if you make a mistake it's going to take a while to restart due to the quality of the product. For beginners I would recommend something cheaper like a Kiss nail kit or something along the lines to practice before you get this. I will update on how long they last as my job requires a lot of hands on tasks and cleaning with strong chemicals. ... show more

    • This polish doesn't stay on very long.
I love the colors of the polish. It chips very easily and the edges lifted up within a day. I wish these gorgeous colors would last longer. If anybody knows a better brand, let me know.

I’m one of those people whose nails look like they were done by an exuberant kindergartener if I do them myself. This kit made me feel like a rockstar! It takes a little time to do (around an hour but I’m getting faster) but you’ll have beautiful, shiny nails for a week or two. Yes, the shine of the top coat stays shiny! I watched several YouTube videos to get an understanding of how to properly apply, which was very helpful. This kit comes with good instructions but they are very brief. It also comes with nice accessories to go with the colors and dip liquids, as well as extra brushes in case yours get gunked up. Removal is fairly straightforward but be aware it can take some patience. You’ll want to invest in some 100% acetone nail polish remover. You can pour some in a plastic baggie and submerge that in a bowl with hot water or you can purchase inexpensive special finger cups that hold hot water in a compartment underneath finger depressions in which you pour the acetone. Hot water greatly speeds up the removal process. The dip liquids with this kit are low odor and they sell larger sizes separately if you run out. I’m so glad I gave this kit a try! ... show more

    • DO NOT BUY WILL GIVE YOU DIP FLU & IT CHIPS
I’m writing this review a year after purchasing. Every time I used this dip powder set I would end up with with HORRIBLE congestion and wheezing 2-3 hours after, lasting 3-4 days. At first I thought I had a cold that wouldn’t go away until I googled if dip powder had something to do with it. Turns out there is something called “dip flu” where you pretty much get bronchitis from inhaling the powder and fumes from the chemicals from dip sets. They suggest wearing a t-95 mask or a painters mask and doing your nails outside. If something is that bad for me that I have to wear a surgical grade mask or better that’s a little sketchy. If that doesn’t deter you from using the product then you should know it chips after 2-3 days, even with 3-4 coats, a different topper, etc (I’ve tried it all). With this product I had to redo my nails every week when usually dip at the salon lasts me 2 weeks +. Bottom line up front, don’t use this product. I was told higher quality dip sets don’t cause the dip flu. So spend the extra $10 instead of wasting your money on this one. ... show more
