Why did you pick this product vs others?: Beautiful colors. I wanted some earthy colors and was worried that these would all be too bright but took a chance with the price being right for me. I actually love the colors. There are some beautiful varieties in here. They have a slightly satin finish, which is pretty. I love that all the spools are threaded and ready to go in this sturdy, compact case. There was even a little room to add my pin cushion and snippers. Happy with this purchase and I'm excited to do some embroidery.

187 Pcs Embroidery Thread Floss Kit by Renashed This is a wonderful gift to anyone who enjoys embroidering. This kit is well organized and is very attractive. The kit is actually 3 separate containers with a divider in each container. Each container fits atop the other, and comes with a plastic lid. The lid has a handle which is sturdy enough to carry this kit easily. The most important feature is the actual embroidery thread colors. There are 25 colors with six shades of that color attached together. The shades are great and coordinate so well with each other. I love having shades of the same color and it makes the embroidery really stand out and be more realistic. There is one section of the boxes that is open and includes some embroidery tools packaged together. There are four threaders. Two are the type with a handle and looped wire. Generally speaking this type of threader works well for a while but eventually the wire gets pulled out. I haven’t used these specific ones but I expect them to be short lived. The other two of the threaders are the metal types with flat hooks on each end. These will last longer but are more difficult to use, in my opinion. There is a tube with 30 embroidery needles inside. The needles are all the same length with various sizes of eyes, where the thread goes through. However, the needles are blunt and not sharp enough to do quality embroidery. The needles are also too short in my opinion. I would not use these needles unless I had lost all of my good needles and was desperate for a needle to use. Even then I would replace my needles as soon as possible. That’s my opinion of the needles provided. The tool kit includes a tool that cuts the thread. This one has a case for the sharp ends, which is good. The actual blades are of adequate quality but I wouldn’t expect them to be sharp for long. In my opinion if you are experienced in sewing you will find a good pair of small scissors for cutting these threads, and not bother with these of lesser quality, like the one in this kit. With all that said, if you are a beginner you will find these needles and thread cutter to be very useful until you decide if you want to invest in better quality tools. This kit is actually a great gift for a beginner. The tool kit also includes a metal ring of about one-half inch of width. The band has circular indentations like those seen on sewing thimbles. I suppose you could use this ring as a thimble of sorts. I have never gotten used to a thimble so I’m not sure how helpful this ring will be. I would guess it to be around a size 5, which most people would use on a finger tip. The last item in the tool kit is a short seam ripper. It has a clear cap over the sharp end. When using put the cap over the bottom, similar to what you would do with a Bic pen. That makes it longer and easier to use. It’s hard to gauge the sharpness but I tried it and it does work to cut threads. In my opinion none of the seam rippers of this type stay sharp for long but it is adequate for its job. Overall I am pleased with this kit and look forward to using it!
