This is perfect May for my Mesa and Mesa XL stoves. The bottom of the mat the black side has a nice rubber grip to keep it from sliding around. I had it on a smooth surface and it gripped pretty well. Not disappointed at all.

This is a review for TOHONFOO 18.5in Fire Pit Mat for Solo Stove Mesa Tabletop Fire Pit, Fireproof Tabletop Fire Pit Mat, 3-Layer Easy to Clean Small Grill Mats for Outdoor Grill to Protect The Grill Table When I got my tabletop firepit, I was wary about using it indoors, or on a table that could be flammable. I am glad that I got this, and now don't have to worry as much. The material on this mat feels like good quality. The seams are well done, and the stitching has no loose threads. The mat is a bit larger than my tabletop stove, which is good, it allows errant embers some space to land, and provides radiant heat protection. This tabletop mat is also slip resistant, and I doubt I have to worry about the firepit sliding off of the table with this underneath it. Overall, I am pleased with this mat, and it should be much safer to use the tabletop firepit.

Tabletop fireplaces are the newest thing for setting a mood statement, but catching the table on fire isn’t quite the statement I want to make. This tabletop protector is peace of mind for that, not that I have seen any sparks yet. But we are planning to toast some marshmallows and other goodies, so cleanup will be a breeze. Compact, folds up and neatly stores with the fireplace and is ready to go when it is. Nice accessory that does not cost much.

We were gifted a small solo stove for Christmas, I wanted to get a little mat to go under it to protect tables we may set it on. This is perfect and I'm just going to roll it up and put it in the carry bag for the solo stove so it's always with it. This mat is thicker and seems well made.

This is just the right size to fit under my tabletop firepit (ethanol type) without taking over the entire table. Perfect for preventing damage to the table and tablecloth underneath. Standard black which matches our little firepit. Too small to work for anything larger, or as a fire blanket to put out a fire. I appreciate that this mat has silicon on both sides, so that we don't have to touch fiberglass. Recommend if you have a tabletop fire pit!

We recently got a tabletop fire pit in addition to a variety of other tablet top flame pits, so this mat seemed like an important idea. We got three layers of protection and it's not until it arrived that I saw that there is a 5-layer one too! I had FOMO until I saw that they both give up to 1,800 degrees of protection. You don't have to be using fire to use this, though. If you're working with anything messy it's handy to put this under it to make for a quicker cleanup when you're done. The description says it has a smooth surface, but actually it's textured - one side verrrry slightly more so than the other. It cleans pretty easily though. It has a well-sewn hem around the edge, and I wish it had been shipped rolled up instead of folded, as the folds haven't quite worked themselves out yet. There is a note in the description that says "To extend the life of the mat, keep 5 inches between the bottom of the fire pit and the mat." I don't know what that means. None of the pictures have it propped up 5", nor does the video, and I don't know that it would be safe, or necessary, to do so. Maybe it means 5cm? I don't think there is a top or bottom to the 3-layer mat because both outside layers are made of "fireproof silicone coating." The 5-layer may have a top, as shown in the picture, but it's silver and the bottom is black, so easy to distinguish. To test the mat I used a peanut lighter and held the flame beneath it until it started to smoke. Of course you can feel the heat on the other side, and it left a black burn mark where the flame was, but I wiped it off and it did leave a mark, but barely. As best I can tell, the flame was 1100-1500 degrees F (You'll read that butane is supposed to burn up to 3,590 F, but butane lighters have a yellow flame because they don't have the ideal oxygen ratio with no heat transfer to the surrounding air, and the yellow flame is cooler). Good value for the price, and for a few dollars more you can get the 5-layer if you prefer.

This mat doesn’t protect from heat. I had my Solo stove campfire sitting on a wooden stool using this mat. The next day I noticed the stool has a large burn mark after I removed the stove and mat. Now I only use it to protect from embers.
