    • Very Stiff Belt

the belt is very stiff and difficult to work with. Previously I had the OEM hydrostatic drive belt off and on when rebuilding the hydro gear transmissions without any problems. This belt would not fit. In frustration I ordered the OEM belt (Ariens 07211500) at $40 and when it was delivered I put the belts side by side. The OEM belt was longer than this belt. Also, the OEM belt was much more pliable. I was able to install the OEM belt without issue. I did measure this belt and it is 67 inches. Unfortunately I did not measure the OEM (Ariens) belt, just visually saw it was 0.5 to 1.0 inches longer. I cannot comment on the durability of this belt because I could not use it. It certainly looked sturdy and was stiff. I believe it came down to the stiffness as to why I could not get it installed. I was not able to roll it over the tensioner pulley like I was able to do with the more pliable OEM belt. The one star is because it was advertised as a replacement belt for my OEM part but I was not able to use it for that. ... show more
