I'm not an expert by any means, but I've been playing flute for a few years, both the simple Irish flute and the metal Boehm flute, and I'm pretty sure this technically isn't actually a bansuri, it's a venu. The difference is in the number of holes. This has an extra hole which means that you can play more notes - that's always a good thing. I thought I was buying a bansuri, but I feel like I got something even better. I was able to play it immediately after picking it up, and it sounds nice. I've always wanted an Indian flute. And the key of G always sounded sweet and bright to me, which is why I bought this one. The notes sound in tune. The only criticism I can make is that the wood seems a little thin, so don't drop it. Also, the advertiser shouldn't advertise this as having a fipple, because it doesn't have one, it's a transverse flute. That just means you hold the flute sideways instead of straight down in front of you, and the thing you blow into is slightly different.
