I bought this for my garden electric fence. It was easy running the lines but took a little time to turn the spool as I walked along. The wire came out nice and straight and I didn't have any problem with the wire having some kind of curl in it as I installed it. It is holding up fine and only once did I have to use my line tensioners. That may have even been movement by my fiberglass posts but I don't think so. This spot of aluminum alloy 16 gauge wire is a good buy. I compared it to all other 16 gauge aluminum wire, and it was slightly cheaper. You can't tell what the alloy consists of, but aluminum does seem to be at least 50%.(based on color and softness) With the high voltages of electric fences, an alloy is absolutely fine. I'm sure it makes it stronger since pure aluminum is more fragile. You will not notice a drop in voltage over the entire length (as long as you don't short-out somewhere) In fact, it's superior to braided electric fence "poly wire". It just costs a more than poly wire. I like the added benefit of a guaranteed shock when an animal touches it. The spool is durable. The wire is neatly spooled up. It's very shiny and noticeable to humans and animals. It twists very easily by hand, and with pliers. There's nothing to beware of. It's a solid product. ... show more
