I rarely leave comments, let alone recommendations, but the quality of the knives is very close to the ones I used growing up working in restaurants in the summer, from 12 to 20 yrs old... First off, the knives are carbon steel, not stainless, so edge sharpness & retention are superior to all stainless steel knives. The metal is at a proper gauge/thickness so it feels properly stiff & strong. The cutting edge is very sharp & has remained so without any sharpening. But what seals the deal for me is the overall look, feel & quality of how the knives are made, look & feel... I would expect to pay 3-4x for this. The handles, finish & handsome knife holding block are all top end. The wood handles are finished with a beautiful butt end metal. I will never go back to stainless steel again as the cutting edges wear quickly & need a lot of edge sharpening. The only caveat to carbon steel is to dry the knives thoroughly after use. Thx to this company for offering such quality for such a great price... kudos!

I did my research, narrowed it down to the top three knife sets in my price budget. Then I read the reviews of the other two sets. Their reviews were not ideal and I passed on them. Pleased with the reviews available and decided to purchase. Item took a little longer than expected to arrive but well worth it. Setup was done in five minutes after I washed the knifes in the dishwasher. All of my favorite types of cooking knives are included and scissors and a sharpener! Love the steak knives and the paring knives (2 sizes) are the perfect sizes depending on the job. Makes trimming the fat on any piece of meat or poultry a breeze. These knives arrive VERY sharp. I accidentally sliced my fingers a few times because I was careless and accustomed to my old worn out dull knives. It was nothing a bandaid couldn’t fix. For the cost, features and functionality this knife set is definitely a worthwhile purchase. You will not be disappointed. Just be careful when handling the the new knives, you’ll have to learn just how sharp these are and the ease in which they slice though whatever you are cooking. Have fun cooking! 💜💜

Correction to "Scissor blades can't cut open food bags..." As I now discover, because they were never designed as such. They are not kitchen sheers. They are poultry sheers! Yes, one would have thought I would have caught that, but I missed it. A term I though long forgotten and have not heard for half a century ago in my grandmothers home. Yes, Silly me!!! Strong, tough, sharp and able to cut a finger off if your not careful. Very well made! But no, they will NOT cut open food bags. You need "Kitchen sheers" for that. (slaps forehead with palm. DooH!) Also, Mr. Vincent contacted me after a miss communication with his underling and very nicely and professionally, reminded me of my error. However, he also made me an offer of replacement, as I appeared unhappy. That was quiet honestly, more generous then I would have felt right in accepting. The error was all mine and Vincent acted incredibly honorably. A "best seller" I ever had the pleasure of communicating with. I wish all would be like Vincent. Shopping would once indeed be a pleasure again. Cheers Vincent. And Thank you.

I ordered the knife set for my daughter. I was so impressed with the fit, finish and quality that I ordered on for myself. Well I guess I got lucky on the first one. Upon inspecting the second set the knife block was lacking in quality. Looks like it was pieced together with different colored wood and there were spots that were not finished sanded or sealed. dont know if I want to keep it or send it back the rest of the set is great.

These are so nice , the quality at this price? I cant believe. I returned my $200 Henckels set after I purchased these. Henckels is what a rip off!! I paid these $29.99 and invested another $5 for a sharpener and a $3 for kitchen sizers and I am all set. The wood block is very compact and can be tugged away on counter and most importantly it has right combination of knifes and very practical. Just bought them so I don't know if they ever rust or chip away. Time will tell.

My son sent me a $40 Amazon gift card for Christmas because I had been wanting to replace my 35 yr old kitchen knife set. These are such a nice step up from the set we had and at a perfect price. I like the weight, sharpness, and look of the knives. Looks great on our counter and doesn't take up too much space like our old set which had lots of extra knives & things we didn't really use much. I purchased a separate "steel" to sharpen the knives when necessary, but for now they're holding their edge nicely.
