I did not have much hope for the little gadget based on the price. I was happily surprised that it was able to heat my daughter’s blow up pool in a little less than an hour. The temperature went from 73.2° up to 84.3. My little girl is a tiny princess and will not go in water below 79°. I am the same way. So I love that I can now sit in her little pool with her while she plays around. And we both get a little break from the heat. Worked well at first. After about a month or two it started shorting out fuses in house. I looked inside and saw It had got mineral buildup and corrosion which probably was causing more resistance of electricity which would short out fuse.

The media could not be loaded. A pretty good, cool heater. I have only used this item one time, so I cannot speak to the quality of the product after multiple uses over time. Box - packing is solid. Only item of note is that the box mentions "after the water" boils. This device does not boil water. The description of the product says it will automatically cut off at 167 degrees (during my test, it shut off at 145 degrees). Instructions - Could use some updating as the pictures and instructions don't match this model device. Instructions show an inline on/off switch on the cord, which the one received (and pictured in the description) does not have. Instructions say to turn it on, but only way to turn it on is to plug in the device. The box also includes a steel pad, but nowhere does it explain what it is to be used for.... I assume maybe for cleaning if using hard water with minerals. Physical quality of heater - Item is ok. Stainless steel is good quality... sturdy and does not bend or flex. The plastic top on the end was installed a little crooked, but not enough for me to worry about the safety or functioning of the heater. Cord length 4' 4". Heavy duty cord. Thermometer testing - I put 2 gallons water in a plastic bucket. Ambient temperature in the house was 72 degrees. The water temperature before heating was 77 degrees. It comes with a thermometer, which was a nice touch. I checked the accuracy of the thermometer against another kitchen thermometer, and they were almost identical temps. Only issue with the thermometer is I did not see a way to turn it off and it never went off automatically. So, I had to remove the battery to turn it off. It had come in the package with a tab you pull off the battery compartment to turn it off. Heater testing results - Very easy to use... just plug it in and it immediately starts heating. Starting Temp 77 - Started stop watch 2:30 mins - water temp was 80 5:00 mins - temp was 83 7:00 - temp was 94 8:45 - temp was 100 11:00 - temp was 110 13:00 - temp was 120 15 mins - temp was 130 17 mins - temp was 141 17:55 mins - temp was 145 and unit automatically shut off Overall impressions - This is a pretty cool device that works if you have a need to heat large amounts of water where you can't easily do it on a stove/microwave. Quality was ok and I liked the added thermometer. I only heated 2 gallons of water, so I can't compare against the time/temps in the description, but I think if I did 5 gallons like the description, it would have been close to what is advertised. Again, this does not boil water - this wording should be updated on the box, instructions and product description. Water boils at 212 degrees... this device shut off during my test at 145 degrees.

I am amazed at how fast this heated a 30gal tub. It comes with a steel wool scouring pad to clean it with and a digital thermometer!! Watch the temperature too, because before you know it, it will be almost boiling and there is no auto-shut-off. I can't wait to try it out in my kiddie pool this winter (as winter as south Florida gets). Its heating surface is the size of the barrel of a curling iron. It has heart shaped cut outs all over. The cord could be longer at only 4ft, you need an extension cord. Easy to use, just drop it in water and plug it in. Make sure the unit is completely under water BEFORE you plug it in because it goes from room temperature to 125+F in seconds and if its not in water, it will burn itself up before you realize its on. I used this to heat the water in tubs to bathe my pets outside on a fine spring day. Worked well and had bath water ready in just minutes.

I've never owned an item like this, but really wanted something to help heat up my grandchildren's toddler pool so I wouldn't have to run back and forth through the house with big pots of warm water from the tub. When it arrived I was pleased to see it felt sturdy, the metal body was straight and stiff. The cord and other rubbery bits also seem thick and well made. I did try it out, as described, by dropping in a 5 gallon bucket of water and it did heat the water to a decently hottish temperature within about 10 minutes which I could then add to the cold pool water and was just about the perfect amount to get the chill off the water. I will say that the instructions really don't help, and I feel with something that involves electricity, they should be a bit more precise. It did take longer to describe in the ad to heat the water, there is no safety inspection evidence, the instructions weren't great, and the cord is so short you need to have it right next to an outlet or use an extension cord, so I'm rating it 3 stars. Additionally, I find it hard to believe it can be used in an inflatable pool as shown in the advertisement - the metal barrel gets very hot and if it was laid anywhere near the plastic, it would easily melt, even with water.

Got this to heat up my kids summer pool faster during the summer. Takes about a half an hour to heat up their pool water to a temperature that is worth playing in. No leaking problems. Safe to use. Perfect size. Functions great for what I got it for. Great value for the money.
