5 stars but know that I am just starting to use it. No longterm info. So far I really like the feel of the cut through the cardstock. Blade is sharp, cut is accurate. Once I determined exactly where the cut is made by the blade, it was easy to use all the tools to make perfect cuts. Put the magnetic black paper guide down first on desired ruler mark, butt the paper to it. It straightens and trues the cut. I also like the clear safety shield for fingers if you can resist urge to just take it off and out of the way! My last paper cutter didn't have a stay-up handle like this one, a real safety feature.

Plus: Heavy construction, cuts cleanly, good locking mechanism for storage. Better than my previous two cutters. Would buy again if I needed to do so. Minus: VERY difficult to trim anything less than 2 inches wide before the cut is to be made.

This is the third paper cutter I’ve purchased, looking for my PERFECT paper cutter that is 100% accurate every time and is made of a sturdy, not flimsy material. Well, this disappointed. There is always a bit of a learning curve when learning a new paper cutter and I thought it was just me but no—the inaccurate cuts from this paper cutter from from the top bar (what you push the paper up against) being glued on crooked. When you put a factory-cut piece of paper up against the top bar, it is crooked and so all your cuts will be crooked. Maybe I got a faulty one but I have been driving myself crazy trying to understand why my cuts aren’t exactly along my cutting lines…. It’s because the top part is not glued on correctly…. That being said I love everything else about this paper cutter. It’s hefty, stable, and I LOVE the magnetic bar that holds your paper down. I wish it, too, laid perfectly across the top bar and a perfect right angle but it also doesn’t—you can wiggle it around a bit.

Waste of money, Purchased because I was making video game manual and cover replacements for my PlayStation 1 games thought It would make my life easier so I spent the money. After trying it out I am very disappointed and will probably throw it out. It is not very sharp and takes a lot of pressure to cut the pages so much that it pulls the paper and cuts at a angle and ruins the print. No matter what I did to try to get a reliable cut it kept pulling the paper and requiring a lot of pressure to cut all the way through. I think I will stick with my Exacto knife its more work but at least I will have something more reliable you better off even using scissors than this piece of junk.
