Did not charge with a 1 wire hookup. Farmall H tractor. The guy at ____ auto electric said that an old tractor does not have enough rpm's to make a140 amp self excite. He gave me a diagram for hookup and it works. The tractor charges 14 volts, and runs my 150 amp winch and still doesn't fall below 13.5 volts.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: The cage was disoriented 90 degrees, had to disassemble and reorients to properly install. Then we discover the spindle is undersized for the factory pulley by maybe a few thou. great job

I bought knowing it did fit my vehicle even though description said it doesn't fit your vehicle. Not everyone knows this they could have spent more money on a different alternator with less power because of that

After installing this new Alternator on my skid steer it started quickly increasing to 14.8 volts which is over the line of having a faulty internal voltage regulator. Anything over 14.5 worries me as when the regulator overcharges it can destroy the vehicles battery. I was going to send it back the next day but instead I'm going to order a new regulator for my old alternator that failed charging completely. I'll keep a close eye on the charging output as I have a digital voltage gauge installed so I can see clearly what the Alt is doing. If it continues to increase further I'll pull the new alternator and return it to Amazon. Then I'll reinstall my old alternator with a new regulator. The alternator itself seems nicely built, no outside damage I could see with the naked eye but the shipping box was very messed up, as is the new normal. Installation was easy and all screws, bolts needed were present. This Alt did have the rubber plug to hide the two terminals used for the ignition wires and such. Gives the Alt a cleaner look, IMPO. Maybe I just got a bad one, maybe not.. I have 27 days to figure that out I guess and send it back. In all fairness to the seller, I can send the alternator back and they will ship out a new one so I don't have to wait w/o an alt on my machine which I thought was cool but then I must send the old, new one back within 30 days so I am not charged for the second, replacement alt. My hope is that the Regulator starts working as it should so I don't have to try a different Alt that may or may not have the same issues! UPDATE, Its now Aug 5th, 2025 and this alternator bit the dust and will not charge over 11.8 volts. I went to Amazon to see what the return, repair policy was only to find out I am OUT OF LUCK, NO WARRANTY AT ALL! I'll NEVER Again buy an Alternator from any seller at Amazon outside DB electrical as they stand behind their products, all of them as I have bought many in the past. SITCO sells JUNK, Why Amazon would not show the very limited, short warranty period for these junk alternators I do not understand but I will NOT buy anymore of them period. DO NOT buy from this seller people unless you enjoy throwing good money away. Thank you. Mike
