Buying a mattress online can be a bit of a gamble. Yet, the same can be said of shopping for one in a store since you can’t adequately test out a mattress in the few seconds you might test one out there. I have been sleeping on memory foam mattresses for many years and have found the firmness level to be erratic between brands. In addition, one persons firm may be another’s soft. I have been sleeping on a Napsie firm mattress since January of 2026, trading up from a rather soft mattress. I am a side-sleeper and ultimately found my former mattress to be a bit too firm. When I had the chance to try their medium-plush mattress, I couldn’t resist. I selected the 14” thick medium plush and I finally found my sweet-spot in mattress comfort. The mattress arrived compressed in a small, yet heavy box so plan on needing a little help lifting. Mine arrived late in the day and I had no room to allow the new mattress to expand while maintaining the old mattress. I was surprised how quickly the mattress expanded to the 14”. It was literally instantaneous. There was just the slightest odor that dissipated before bedtime that night and I was pleased to know the mattress was CertiPUR-US Certified. What I did notice was the mattress took a couple days to develop the firmness I was looking for. I am a side sleeper and on night one felt the mattress was too soft. But by night 3, the firmness developed into the perfect level. I have been sleeping on the mattress for well over a week and it is the best mattress I have owned. I sleep soundly and the blanket and comforter barely move since I sleep so well. The only drawback I found is the mattress is about an inch too long (81” vs 80”) and it makes getting a fitted sheet in place a struggle. I especially like that the mattress is USA made and it arrived in record time. The mattress cover can be zipped off for cleaning, yet the manufacturer did not include instructions on the best practice for laundering. I highly recommend the Napsie brand. I’ve gone through a few memory foam mattresses over the years, and some have been major losers, but this Napsie one is a winner. First off, setup was easy and exactly as expected -- cut open the plastic, unroll, give it a little time, and it expands without any bad odors. It inflated so quickly, I was able to sleep on it that same night. Very convenient! Comfort-wise, the “medium plush” label is spot on. It has enough give to cushion shoulders and hips, but there’s still support underneath so you’re not sinking endlessly. I’m a side sleeper, and that balance is tough to get right -- this one nails it. (I do generally prefer a firmer mattress, so I think in the future I might consider the "firm" option instead of "medium plush," but again, this one is extremely comfortable!) The cooling aspect is noticeable to me as well. Between the gel foam and the breathable cover, it definitely sleeps cooler than other memory foam beds I’ve tried. Motion isolation is solid too -- movement on one side doesn’t ripple across the whole mattress, which fits the frame perfectly (14-inch offers a nice high profile, too!). A couple minor things to keep in mind -- it’s a lot more robust than other bed-in-a-box mattresses I've owned, so the shape is consistent across the entire mattress, meaning it's also uniformly thicker (so fitted sheets need a bit of extra depth; I typically go up one size and that helps). For anyone who likes the contouring feel of memory foam but wants better temperature control and balanced support, this one delivers a genuinely comfortable night of sleep. Napsie mattress worked out so well for my son’s room. He’d been on the same mattress for almost 12 years, and since he’s six feet tall and around 225 pounds now, he’s a big guy and really needed the space of a queen. He’s always liked a soft bed, and even though this is a medium-plush, he’s been happy with it. It’s actually so comfortable that I’ve thought about stealing a nap on it myself. It has cooling gel memory foam and a Tencel cover, which helps a lot because he’s a very hot sleeper and usually wakes up sweaty. There’s an egg crate layer inside that keeps air moving so he stays a lot cooler at night. He did say he wished it was a little more mushy, but he thinks it just needs to be broken in since it's brand new. He says it feels way better than his old one because the foam cradles his shoulders and hips instead of just being stiff. Since he has some issues with his bones, it's a relief knowing he can stay comfortable through the night and wake up without any pain in his body. It’s good to know the foam is CertiPUR-US certified and made in the USA so I don't have to worry about chemicals, and the 10-year warranty is a nice bonus for making sure it lasts. For the price, it's a really good value compared to other ones I've seen. It looks and feels like a quality mattress without being expensive, and I'm just glad he’s finally getting some good sleep and actually has enough room to stretch out. If you are looking for a mattress that is neither too firm nor too soft, this one might be perfect for you. We had previously purchased a mattress from a big box store and needed another one for an extra bedroom. I ordered this one without much worry of the comfort because who ever uses it will just be a guest for a night or two at the most. When we got it in we decided we liked this one evenmore than the one we intended for us so we switched mattresses and we have no regrets. It’s so comfortable and we sleep like a dream! The mattress seems firm but with a memory foam topper built in so it supports your back well. I believe the price point is a good value for what you get! ... show more
