I use this for personal use for my bathtub. My water doesn't get hot in my apartment, more like lukewarm, so I use this so I am able to have a hot bath once in a while. It is safe enough for me to get inside the water with the device on and not have to worry about electrical shock. The electrical components are water proof and it gets very hot. I bet it could boil the water in tub if needed. I always put it on the lowest setting and that is enough to get my water very hot. Sometimes too hot and I have to add Cold Water to even it out. lol. But no complaints so far. Make sure you read the instructions. I followed them and haven't had any problems. When turning it on it must be submerged fully, and when turning it off, it must be fully submerged. It has a light indicator to let you know when it is in use and safe to pull out the water. I always turn off and unplug it before removing the it from the water. If you're lucky enough to have a Hot tub in your home, I swear it gets hot enough to heat up the water without using propane! I love it, and it's something I would only see on amazon, because I don't go out.

We use this on an 8' diameter blue Behlen pool and it works FANTASTIC. I have some solar & use a pool cover also but raise to temps to 90 degree range with ease. I made a perforated stainless metal sling to easily drop into my pool with the heater in the metal sling just as a little extra protection as the pool is plastic and the heater is hot. Thermostat works well, note that 32 degrees is the OFF setting. I'm careful to never have the heater on when removed from water, so I also unplug after turning off. A bit tricky to decalcify as our water is hard but I use bathroom/kitchen products for that purpose and a stainless scour pad. Extends our swim season and keeps pool temp nice and comfy.

If you can’t make up your mind. Get this!! My cultural background I enjoy hot bath very much. But the water temperature was not hot enough for me. I run into this product while I was browsing for something else. I took a chance and purchased this immediately. I was ecstatically happy in hot tub. It was hot enough and I was able to relax my muscle. Slept like a baby for the first time in decades. So glad I got this product.

I will update this initial review after six months of use. I just bought it. First impression is that I am impressed with the mass of the unit. The metal sheath covering the wiring looks durable and likely to improve the usable life of the unit. The heating element is likewise - massive. It’s heavy and substantial and there is a protective cover which unscrews to provide exposure of the element. Edit, the thermostatic regulator is not imprecise - but it’s integrated with the element, so depending on your application will require calibration for your vat size. Once the temperature is stable, it does remain stable. So, I’ll get back to you about the overall durability of the item in a few months. My initial impression is of being very pleased with two of the three issues I needed to address. The third: the maintaining of the desired constant temperature, is resolved with a bit of calibration. I am likely to buy this again, Depending on the durability. It is high quality and apparently well made and I feel it’s a good value and a wise purchase. Be well! It’s time to update this review once again after several months of intensive use. I am happy to report that this heater has performed spectacularly. I have never found a better solution, and I can confidently recommend this heater for all your precision, and industrial liquid temperature regulation needs. It works for corrosive liquids at a constant temperature. It’s perfect!

I purchased this because my spa's heating element was dead on arrival. It heated my spa from 80 to 105 over night. The only thing that I wished that it had was a thermometer to know how hot the water is. Luckily that part of the hot tub still works, but it is something that I would like to see. Also, leaving the filter on helps the water get hot much faster. I would definitely recommend this for anyone looking to heat up their spa.

I've spent much time testing this and reviewing reviews for similar experiences. This thing is incredibly robust and thoughtfully built HOWEVER, my experience was the same as a handful of other folks: only about 1/3 of the heating element engages, and gets warm, which makes its effectiveness just that... 1/3 of what it should be doing. I am believing that this was simply a one-off product flaw and that the plethora of positive reviews is trustworthy enough. That said, I'm returning this unit, and purchasing the same unit again, or getting a replacement from the company. Either way, I'll give it one more shot. I'll update this review and bring up the stars if I get a 2nd product that works as it should...Here's hoping!
