I do like this rod for cranking, it’s pretty solid and gives enough strength to pull in crank baits. I will say however the tip of the Rod was broken when I received it so I had to buy some replacement tips.

First rod arrived on time with the tip broken (NOT 13fishings fault but our glorious USPS employees). Submitted a return and the new rod was on the way before the damaged one got picked up for return. New rod arrived in two days. Great products and customer service.

I had to come back for a new review as I have bought 2 more of these rods. Started with the 7'5 heavy. A great rod for frogging. Caught a huge snapping turtle on it and the thing survived. Then I bought the 7' cranking rod. Came in perfect condition but not in a box. Just the thin plastic bag. Maybe this was to make sure the folks at Amazon were gentle. I also ordered the 7'9 cranking rod. That one had some trouble in shipping and was sent back the first time and I was refunded. A new on is on the way now. Edit: the 7,9 was broken again during shipping. Its literally not in a box. They just throw a raw fishingpole in a bag that's thinner than a zip lock, into the back of a UPS truck. Very bad way to secure my product.... ... show more

First off, I’ve been an avid consumer for 13 Fishing. Their baitcaster TX2 has served me well for fresh/salt water fishing for 4-5 years now. However, I’m disappointed with the shipping. I ordered this Defy Black reel as I know the quality 13 Fishing offers, yet their delivering is a not what I expected from them. The rod came with the tip being completely broken. I retired my extreme 7'4 Bass Pro Shop crankbait rods after almost 20 yrs let's just say I got my money's worth out of them so I got one of these two of these one 7'9 and one 7'4 crankbait rods I think they're fiberglass and graphite I just used it a couple times but I love them I guess time will tell about durability though but that's all I got for now ... show more
