  • love this carport
Color: Deep Gray Size: 10x15FT
This is my first time owning a real metal carport—before, I was just using a cheap tarp stretched over some PVC pipes, and every winter, I’d hold my breath waiting for it to collapse under snow. But this 10x15FT Total game-changer, especially with how early the snow hit Minnesota this year. We got a big storm on November 2nd—10 inches of wet, heavy snow, the kind that sticks to everything and weighs a ton. I went out the next morning fully expecting to see the roof sagging, but it was totally flat. Those triangular reinforced structures on top aren’t just for show, they handled the weight like it was nothing, and the 50 PSF snow load rating makes total sense now. The wind was bad too, gusting up to 35 mph, which usually tears my tarp to shreds. But this carport’s base with the triangular steel pipes and anchoring kits kept it planted. I walked around it, kicking the posts a little, and it didn’t move an inch. No creaking, no wobbling, just solid. I opened the driver’s side of my pickup later that day, and the interior was dry as a bone, no water seeping in through gaps, thanks to that waterproof sealing tape. The galvanized steel frame looks just as good as the day I put it up, too, no rust, no chipping, even with all the melting snow dripping down. What I love most is the little daily win: I don’t have to wake up 30 minutes early to scrape ice off my windows anymore. The carport keeps the wind off, so the truck stays just warm enough that frost doesn’t build up. And when I shovel the driveway, I don’t have to worry about snow piling up on the truck bed, this thing covers it all. For anyone in the Upper Midwest dealing with harsh November winters, this carport isn’t just a shelter, it’s one less thing to stress about. It’s thick, it’s tough, and it does exactly what it says it will. ... show more

  • Carport is not heavy duty!
Color: Deep Gray Size: 12x25FT
I was very disappointed with this product. While the seller did issue a refund, I’m leaving this review so others don’t go through the same experience. I brought several concerns to the seller’s attention, including inaccuracies in the product description, but they have not been corrected. The listing claims the carport is rated for 120 mph winds and 35 lbs PSF snow load. Based on the construction, this is simply not realistic. With supports spaced roughly 57 inches apart, no purlins, and thin 30/31-gauge roofing panels, these ratings are not achievable. The roofing panels arrive covered with a protective film that is extremely difficult to remove. It comes off in tiny pieces, making it impractical to fully remove. If left on, it will likely begin peeling and look unsightly over time. For sealing the roof joints, the product includes what is essentially black duct tape. This is not a durable solution—it will likely fail within weeks. Once it fails, reapplying anything to the top side is very difficult since the roof is too flimsy to safely walk on. Even during installation, it’s nearly impossible to apply the tape without leaving small gaps where water can penetrate. Shipping and packaging are also a concern. The boxes are large and heavy (around 100 lbs each) with minimal protection, so damage during transit is very likely. I personally received multiple damaged panels and had to spend additional time repairing them. Additionally, the included hardware is insufficient. I ran out of screws and had to add more in areas where the metal panels didn’t sit flush. The provided screws also use a very hard plastic washer, which does not seal as effectively as a softer rubber washer would. Overall, the product does not match the claims in the listing, and the design and materials lead to multiple installation and durability issues. Buyers should be aware of these limitations before purchasing. ... show more

  • Challenging carport installation with mixed results
Color: Deep Gray Size: 12x25FT
After finally assembled, the carport works fairly well though it leaks rain in a number of places. The main reason for buying this was to keep sap off of a vehicle and for that purpose it is fine. Assembly is another matter. Some steps are left out of the instructions or are unclear. Even asking the vendor to explain one, the explanation is so so. Here are some of the issues found: - There is no explanation that the installation location should be relatively flat and level. If installing in a gravel location, this becomes important. If not very flat, the final carport will have dips and bumps. This may be intuitive, but an up front statement would help. And we even machine compacted our gravel first. - Many pre punched holes don’t line up. Don’t sweat it and just run the self drilling screws wherever you need them. It isn’t necessary to pre drill as suggested. - All parts are clearly numbered. - The roof panels have a plastic covering that needs to be peeled off. Upon asking the vendor, they said we could leave them on and the weather would slowing destroy the coverings. The carport would also look like it has the mange for years. Remove them unless you want your carport to look bad for years. - In addition to not explaining that the plastic covering should be removed, they say nothing about how to do it. What we learned is that just peeling off results in many strips to start again. Best way is to set the 55 panels individually out in the sun to heat up. This softens the coverings and makes it much easier to peel off. They are a pain to start, but if you go slowly enough you can remove in one piece. Plan on spending at least 8-12 hours pulling off plastic. I suspect most carports have this issue. - Due to the non interlocking roof panel design, overlap is only so so at best. - If you don’t use all pre punched holes, fill with sealant to reduce leaking. - Lastly, the black duct tape provided to “seal” under panels is just that, tape. It is not the butyl tape normally used. Also, put under the seams, not on top as suggested. That will not peel off in a year. So was the $700+ cost worth it? That depends on your need. If your goal is to keep sap and bird poop off your vehicle and you’re willing to spend several days doing it right, it’s ok. If you want to keep your vehicle dry and have a perfectly straight roof line, no. ... show more
