I recently purchased a small rectangle kids pool and needed a cover to keep out debris and critters. I found this one and took a chance. The size was much larger than the pool so cut it to a perfect size to cover the pool leaving some length to place bricks on the edges to keep it secure. It has metal rings on the edges and top side gray and other blue. It’s medium weight and secure edges. Basic, low-priced tarp for less-intense use. From what I am reading, the quality from tarp to tarp can be a little variable, so make sure you inspect yours upon receiving so you don't miss the return window if you need to return. Grommets line the edges, spaced about a foot and half apart. With fairly light use under mild condition I would guess this tarp will last a long time. If you want to abuse it, use it frequently in inclement weather, subject it to heavy use, I don't have as much confidence in it. The 5 mil spec sounds about right, but if you go any thinner than this, you are getting into *extremely* thin territory. There is nothing wrong with a lightweight light-duty tarp, but you need to set proper expectations. Using this under a tent or to keep rain off of something, or even to collect leaves in the yard is going to work fine. But this will not hold up to tons of abuse or heavy loads. I do like the fact that this has grommets every 18 inches, much closer together than many tarps I have used in the past. And the overall construction here seems fine - the seams are all closed, there is a (thin) cord running along the outer edge (inside the edge seam), and all four corners have plastic reinforced grommets. At $20, this is a pretty good quality, *light-duty* tarp. If you have the right expectations, you shouldn't be disappointed. ... show more
