Those that are familiar with this family of Ford tractors and their starters will be aware that it is difficult to remove and install the starters. Due to the design of the starter. There's nothing about this starter that made it worse. It's just a function of the design that Ford used. As stated, this starter went in well and works very well.

Remember to leave one of the nut finger tight on the starter until you get it up inside housing so starter does not come apart. Works great.

The media could not be loaded. I bought a 1948 Ford 8N from my brother’s neighbors in early 2023. I knew it would need some love, but it was in good shape. The 12-volt conversion someone else has done was a mess, so I rewired everything. I found the starter on the tractor when I bought it was having a hard time engaging. Rather than rebuilding it, I poked around online and found this replacement unit. The price was less than half of some other retailers. The starter arrived in a well-padded box. I cleaned the surface on the tractor around where the starter mounts with some brake cleaner and a scour pad. It fit perfectly. The tractor now starts like a dream.

Fair Price, Good quality. It Fit my 1943 Ford Ferguson 2N Tractor perfectly and spun right up (Started) I bought this tractor back in 2007, and in the restoration process converted it from 6 volts to 12. It's been a workhorse around our 5 acre home, from driveway plowing/grading, to moving cargo trailers around, plowing the garden, and hauling firewood.... so there was no shame in that old starter finally going bad. I might add That while it is a 1943 Tractor, it does have a 1948, 8N engine block on it.. The N series Tractors have a LOT of interchangeable parts...

The product itself is great, easy to install and good fitment.. But when it breaks, their customer service is HORRIBLE.. Tried contacting them through the web form linked on Amazon, no response, few days later I emailed them, got a reply a few days later asking details about how I hooked it up, which I provided, they wanted a photo or video of it, supplied that a few days later, and since then nothing. I've emailed them three times in the last week with NO response. All over their website and in the description they tout their "great" customer service, which is complete crap.
