Bought 3 Della mini-splits in 2003. The 2,400 BTU and 1,200 BTU units in husband's shop are still working great. The 1,200 BTU in our 700 sq ft upstairs attic living space worked great the first year. Last year and this year were marginally cool. Turned out the condenser quit working properly, even after being recharged. I think Della is a good brand, but sometimes you get a lemon. Also, the condenser for this mini-split is on the east side of the house, the two units for the shop are on the north side with shade all day. Here in Texas summer temps are 100+ so the east side of the house has direct sun from east and south until around 3 pm., which would make the condenser work harder. Have read that other people have said their mini-splits only lasted 2 years, even though they are supposed to last 10-15 years. So, we decided to buy this Mountman which was on sale...paid less money than the 1,200 BTU Della we bought 3 years ago. Our thought is that if it only lasts a few years, we aren't out that much money. Installed today and it works great! Wanted a mini-split WITHOUT Alexa so this is perfect. Mini Splits are notorious for mold growth if not operated correctly. Had problems with mold growth on our Della mini-splits due to turning the units off when not needed. This allows water to sit in tray. Once we started putting the units on dry or fan, when temps did not require use, the mold problem stopped. Also, a technician told us mini splits should be hung at a slight angle towards the drain hole to ensure water drains well, even though instructions say to make sure unit is level. My husband is going to make a shade cloth cover (like a patio cover) to shield this Mountman condenser from direct sunlight. Hopefully, that extend the life of the condenser. ... show more

Cant speak for how it runs yet as all the connections dont match 3/8 outside with 3/8 line set however indoor head has 1/2” connections Should also mention the outside unit is missing the front and side grills to protect the condenser and the fins. So far out of the box im pretty disappointed
