These larger basswood sheets are perfect when a project requires more space than the smaller standard sheets. The dimensions were accurate, the overall quality was very good, and the wood cut beautifully on my laser cutter. The surface finish was clean, and the material worked extremely well for larger designs and prototypes. Because of the increased size, the sheets are somewhat more prone to warping than smaller pieces. This is not unusual for wood products, but it is something to keep in mind when planning projects that require a perfectly flat surface. I purchased the "12 Pack Basswood Sheets for Crafts-12 x 12 x 1/8 Inch- 3mm Thick Plywood" for the purpose of cutting with my diode, tabletop laser for some crafty projects to sell and gift. I've used Lauan plywood in the past, but was looking for something thinner (3mm vs 5mm) and harder/denser. I've seen plenty of reviews for different items stating that the boards they purchased were not flat, and that was a primary concern for me. My laser head sits close to the material, and anytime there is much variance in product height there is a chance the laser head will drag or move the product, resulting in wasted time and product. The plywood I received was without blemishes, and flat. What more can I say? After cutting the plywood I do see that there is sometimes warpage in the material. But it was flat when I received it, and also when I put it on my grid to cut. I don't think it's humidity. What happens, I believe, is that the material heats up from the laser (more in some places than others) and it warps slightly from that. Remember, it is layers glued together. I've cut out a large (nearly 12" x 12") monogram, and afterwards it had zero warpage. When I have done Christmas tree ornaments with a lot of detailed close cuts I see slight warpage, but nothing that has been noticed by others. I hope this is helpful! ... show more

    • 1/8 inch/3.175 mm checks a bit thin.
Size: 12 x 4 inch
The sheets measure a little on the thin side at 2.89 mm thick. If they are supposed to be 1/8" thick then that would be 3.175 mm. Again, not quite there. Otherwise they look pretty good except for a little warping for a few of them but I think I can make them work with some double sided tape to hold them down while engraving them. I'll just have to watch how deep i set the router bit. ... show more

They cut good, but just about every board was warped, and they all only measured about 15.5"x15.5" so not a true 16x16 board.
