Roasting coffee can be a very simple process, or it can be a real work of art created by an experienced artisan. The roasting process has always been a mysterious kind of thing considered to be a closely guarded process of proprietary roasting profiles kept only for the privileged artisans “in the know” with sophisticated commercial roasting equipment. Roasting is truly a rewarding experience where the more experience you get the better your coffee tastes. Basically, you heat the beans to around 400F to 450F in about 10-15 minutes time period. Once the beans reach your desired doneness or “brown” simply remove them from the heat and cool to room temperature as quickly as possible. After this you can use them to brew coffee!
