I love this kit. For anyone who shares my nostalgia for Johnny 5 from the original movies, this will be a sure hit. I was surprised by how large he was and the functionality for the price is excellent. He has a remote and you can also control its the smartphone app although the app is not very user friendly. If I had to give one bit of critical feedback regarding the kit design, it is that his rear wheels are cosmetic and conceal a ball bearing, rather than swiveling as in the design. Otherwise though, the build does an incredible job of making him look lifelike at this scale, and having a remote controlled version that can actually drive around is very fun. Be aware though, he's not all-terrain at all- due to a lack of suspension he vibrates a lot when moving around, doesn't have a lot of power or stability to get over obstacles, and he's quite slow too. I think of him more as posable display model than a toy, and the play features are just a nice-to-have bonus. If you have those same expectations, he will not disappoint!

This kit is great. It arrived on time and in great condition. Instructions were great and the pieces fit almost perfectly. There were a few pieces that didn't match up great, especially around the neck area. Otherwise, it took a bit of time to assemble because there were lots of pieces involved. It was worth the effort because it looked and worked great after completed. Even if it isn't the exact replica of the movie, it is still close enough for the fans of Johnny 5. I highly recommend this kit for those with patience and to keep memories of Johnny 5 Alive!!!

If you were a big fan of the Short Circuit films from the 80's, and a Lego/Building Block Kit fan, ABSOLUTELY get this set! I've always wanted a toy/rc version of Johnny 5 ever since I saw Short Circuit 2, and boy does this deliver. Sure people are able to produce replicas now with 3d printing and such but it comes at a hefty cost, this does not. I think the price is totally worth it for what you get! I've read some reviews here talking about how parts were missing and the numbered bags didn't go with how the instructions say. They must have updated this product some because I had no issues at all. As big of a Lego nut as I am it takes a lot to impress me with knock-off stuff. I've had other sets in the past like Mega Bloks and such and you can tell the quality is way different from Lego. I cannot say that with this set. I am VERY impressed with the brick quality, besides obviously the Lego logo missing from the bricks, you cannot tell a difference quality wise between Lego and this off brand set. Of course the fact that it's RC is another perk! I recieved and finished the build yesterday and I love it! Sure some of the colors are weird using sand blue bricks for a silver/grey robot but it looks just like Johnny 5. Whoever designed this knew what they were doing with the details. I plan on doing some mods of my own, but even as is, this is an awesome product. If you have doubts about buying this, I can assure you it's worth it and it's top notch. Absolutely no regrets buying this. Everything down to the instructions and numbered bags is nothing less than what I would expect from Lego themselves.

The kit is fun and challenging to build, perfect for my grandson but parts fall off easily when moving it. Overall he is enjoying setting up courses to run the robot through.

The media could not be loaded. So we home school our children (5). Short version is this build is was thought out. The instructions are very well put. For copywrite reasons it's very close to another build. No missing parts. Had a little extra. My 10y old daughter had a few hangups but this is normal for her builds. I did glue a few together because of actual play. Get the good stuff from hobby lobby. The is two pices in the track build that need it. The cover for the tracks need it. The laser needs it. The tank connector to body needs it. Eyebrows need it. This is only from actual play. Also there is a part on the tracks from the injection mold that leaves a stubb. See picture. Nick this off with an exact-o knife and the gears are smoother. Note: my 5 kids do allot of these and actually play with them. They make Wall-E and J5 fight too. Lol

Poor images lead to confusion when assembling. Missing parts in every bag. I have put this kit together 3 times and am about to tear it apart for the 4th time to see what's wrong. Pieces do not lock together well at all, I'm about to resort to super glue. I would expect this quality from other cheap sites but 90 bucks is an expensive headaches
