  • OK I guess
The camera is hard to maneuver through pipes that have any bends. I got it through only one bend, and it would not go farther. Hoping I can try again, or possibly go through the basement pipe. I am looking for a clog in the pipe that lead to the bathroom vanity sink. The picture quality is good but not great - ok for home use I think. Big kudos to the seller for getting it to me in two days! I am really trying to avoid calling a plumber. The camera's instructions are ok, and it was fairly easy to use the buttons for taking photos - I have not done any videos yet. I would recommend as long as you know this is for simple household use. ... show more

  • The best one I've had so far!
First I'd like to say that I'm not very good at using an endoscope. Often I'm looking at the screen thinking "what the heck is that?". Things I like: I've had several different units, and not having to mess with connecting to a phone is a great thing! No app or wrong USB connection since it just works out of the box. The screen is a good size and you can capture images or video without a problem and I just use the SD card to transfer the if needed. I've had "floppy" cabled units that require a wire or some kind of wizardry to move around. Instead this one is about as perfect stiffness as you can get (although going through multiple tight bends can be tricky). The smaller camera head is soooo much better than the earlier ones I've had that were just too big to fit through or around tight spots. The side camera is a "must have" now that I've used it. Instead of trying to bend the camera 90 degrees to try to see something, now you can focus on getting the camera to the right spot and if the forward camera isn't a great view, switch to the side camera. This was a lifesaver when I was checking the oil pump pickup in my truck going through the drain plug. I couldn't tell if there was any junk stuck in the screen with the forward camera, but the side camera showed a clear view of the screen. So the only thing I think that could be better on every unit I've owned including this one is a better way to manage orientation. I already have a hard time trying to figure out what I'm looking at, so add in the fact that maybe I'm looking at it upside down or sideways and I have no hope of figuring out what is going on. The side camera can help sometimes to figure out if the camera is pointed "up", but I think a good old yellow line on the cable indicating which way is up would be much simpler. ... show more

  • Great for auto repair and inspection. Better than my Dewalt.
I bought this specifically for auto repair and inspection. I love the two cameras and the corresponding two lights. The manual could be better. There is a video on YT that is better than the instructions that come with the unit. The instructions that I received did not show how to switch from one camera to the other. The button to do this is on the near end of the camera cable. The button is black, and the cable is black. It is not going to jump out at you. Like most people, I own a lot of electronics. I can't think of anything else that has a button on a cable. I have used this to check the partial VIN on the back side of 60's muscle car engine. I have used this to inspect the area that is behind the dashboard on a truck. It was helpful both times. Both times I attached the camera cable to a bamboo garden stick using blue painter's tape. This stick added some rigidity to get the camera exactly where I wanted it. Any stick will work. By comparison, I also own an older Dewalt scope. The picture on the Dewalt is not as good. The Dewalt takes a big, expensive battery with its big plug-in charger. The Dewalt has a short camera cable and the cable is outrageously stiff. The camera cable has a "memory" bend to it from being bent to get it into the carrying case. It has only one camera, which points straight ahead. The single Dewalt camera head is way larger than the dual camera head on this unit. I doubt that I will ever use the Dewalt unit again. I bought that one for home repairs. I recommend the Teslong inspection camera. Two thumbs up. ... show more

  • Quality product that works as described, but with caveats
Let me start by saying that I'm impressed with the quality of this borescope and it has proven to be very useful. In particular, the small diameter (5mm) has allowed me to use it in really tight spaces with limited access. I wish I'd bought one long ago. It's easy to use, works as decribed, is very well packaged and I'm happy with it. That said, there are a couple of things I've learned from using it. These aren't complaints, just observations: - The 16' snake is much longer than I've needed so far and the stiff coil can be unwieldy to work with. I could easily get by with a 4-6' snake most of the time and will check with Teslong to see if a shorter snake is available. Changing it requires unscrewing it from the monitor, but it would be a rare occurrence so it shouldn't be an issue. - If you need to need to rotate the snake for a different view or to get past an obstacle, it can be difficult because it's rigidly attached to the monitor (plus you may have the coiled extra snake length to deal with). The side camera helps sometimes, but it's only a partial solution. With this experience under my belt, I would love to have a shorter borescope with a flexible head controlled by a joystick, but that's not what I paid for and I can't justify the higher price for my limited use. Again, I have no complaints with this product and I'm glad I have it. ... show more
