    • I got a great product
A few weeks ago I purchased an endoscope from a different company, similar specs, well it would not turn on! rather than send straight back to amazon, I reached out to customer support in case their was a simple fix, 3 emails never once a response, still to this day no response , of course I returned product! well I really wanted one so thought I would try once more and purchased this Borescope. Straight away it turned on! yay! but now I have to say it's an incredible gadget, and I am using it for my car, for pipes, and some fun stuff like looking into a curious hole under the house! Picture quality is great, was never expecting perfect video or pictures, it's not like I was ever going to make a slide show of my engine or water line to share with the family! but for what you want to look at this does the job really well. I love the led light and the attachments, the 3.3ft cable is more than enough for my needs, and anyway a long cable always seemed it would be way to tricky trying to shove an 11 foot cable down a hole!. Has a nice case to keep it clean and together. But any product purchased from any buyer is only as good as the company who stands by it. And this is why I started with the opening sentence . Depstech contacted me soon after receiving my Borescope offering any support I need. This is what gives you confidence in a product the after sales, and so buy their products they are affordable, and most importantly top quality and after sales. ... show more

    • Reliable and good quality with a couple of potentials for improvement
I’m pretty happy overall with the purchase. Picture quality is outstanding. No lags. Works flawlessly. A friend of mine has the version that works with the phone and I’ve used both. In the end I’d recommend this version because 1. You don’t need to have a working phone (let’s say your phone is running out of battery or you are trying to look up something online or whatever that you’d rather not depend on your phone for this) 2. Call me paranoid but, quite frankly I am not certain how much I could trust the app developers of a foreign company to both do their due diligence and not have bugs and also to don’t intentionally do something mischievous on my phone. Again not to accuse anyone of anything but if I can have one less app getting permissions on my phone I always do that. 3. There are actually bugs (quite understandably so) in the app. So there have been instances when we couldn’t make it work. Now a couple of caveats about this particular unit (why not 5 stars): 1. The unit is bulky. I mean maybe that’s by design but also maybe it could still be made smaller. 2. Once you take the scope out of the box, it’s always a hassle to put it back in. I feel like the box could’ve been made such that it makes the task easier. 3. The hook attachment is pretty flimsy. I was trying to get it inside the wall without too much force and it almost broke off on the first use. I bent it back in place and it’s there for now. I don’t know whether I would actually be able to use it. 4. The magnet attachment almost completely block the camera view. So it kinda defeats the whole purpose. But let me also talk about some of the pros real quick: 1. No phone needed 2. Good battery life 3. Clear display with good features such as rotating the picture 4. Great picture quality 5. Great illumination from the built in LEDs 6. Sturdy construction 7. Easy to use ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Pros: - Price. The device itself plus a very nice carrying case and a 32gb sd card is very reasonable. - Carrying Case. My only complaint from my wireless DEPSTECH scope is that I have no safe way to store it. This carrying case is very sturdy and will do great at giving my scopes a proper storage place. - Ease of use. The physical properties of the device allow it to be snaked into all sorts of tight situations. The stiff cable is just right to allow bending when needed. The device allows pictures and videos to be taken easily. - Battery life. I was able to use it for about 20 minutes at full brightness without any issues. I assume I could have kept going, but I was done with what I needed. I did not let it fully drain, but I don't think there is an indicator for remaining life. - Device screen. The device screen is clear, bright, and keeps up with the camera movement. - Ergonomics. Holding this device was very easy and comfortable. General Notes: - Image quality. Compared to my wireless DEPSTECH scope (https://amazon.com/dp/B07MV6X4M4) with a 5 MP camera, the 2MP camera seems to struggle a bit. The handheld screen resolution makes up for it some, but viewing the images or videos back on PC (1080p monitors) shows a lot of grain and is hard to pick out fine details. Cons: - Camera exposure. When inside a semi reflective metal tube (duct work), even at the lowest brightness setting most of the image gets completely washed out. Having some way to adjust exposure sensitivity would be helpful in certain situations. Overall impressions: This will be a nice addition to my tool collection for use during my home renovation among other projects. I really like the responsiveness of the display, compared to my wireless scope. The display is very light and easy to hold, which is another pro over my wireless scope. I always seemed to struggle to hold my phone and maneuver the camera end at the same time. This device takes care of that. I would really like to see an upgraded 5MP camera like the one in the wireless scope, I think that would add a lot of detail clarity that I'm missing with this device. ... show more
