  • Go Figure
This is a classroom pack of calculators with 10 in a carton. For about the cost of a good 4 function calculator, you can get this fx-82 version that has over 240 math functions. Durable ABS material, tactile buttons, 2 line display, and a comfortable grip. The calculator has a dust cover, that also stores on the back. Equations can be edited using the middle cursor key, but this is not a graphing calculator. This calculator covers, standard addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, memory registers, and variables. Other functions include Brackets, Powers, Fractions, Scientific notation, Factorials, Statistics, Means, Standard deviation, Frequency Distribution, Linear regression, Trigonometric, Exponential, and Logarithmic functions. Also allows calculation in Degrees, minutes, seconds, and Hours, minutes, seconds. Users will enjoy extended battery life by switching to LR1130 button cells. These batteries have a consistent voltage, long shelf life, and low self-discharge rate. Mercury-free for safety and have a sealed anti-leak technology. Bottom line, longer life and less trouble than AAA pen light cells. There is a one page sheet of instructions which only covers the basic modes like engineering, statistics, standard deviations, data entry, memories, and clearing memory. It isn’t designed, to teach how, or why you would use the different formulas and functions this unit is capable of. If you’re looking for more information, there are lots of fx-82 tutorials, tips and tricks videos on Youtube. This is a product at home in grade school, all the way through college. A lot of bang for the buck ... show more

  • Great value
This is a cost effective and robust set of calculators, ideal for stocking a classroom. But I got them for personal use. I keep a lot of numerical information in various apps on my phone and one of these calculators saves me the trouble of flipping in and out of one app to the calculator app on my phone. Did I need 10 calculators? No, but I find it very useful to keep them handy in the utility draw, my car glove box, in my basement, and other handy places. I plan to put a magnet on a couple of them to place it on a metal cabinet in the garage, and one on my kitchen refrigerator. I could have gone with a more basic calculator, but the value of this set of ten calculators is not to be passed up. The calculator is very lightweight, which is great, but it does feel cheaper than it's capability. The buttons are a nice size and perfect for not hitting two at a time. It's impressive overall with a big display, and more functions than I'll ever need. It displays everything you type and will display the equation and the answer once you hit "=" and it will continue to calculate and if you keep entering more numbers and functions. ... show more

  • Cheap but very nice calculator.
Calculator is surprisingly well thought out and actually fun to use. This sort of calculator got me into high school, but I was a math nerd so got a programmable as soon as I could. Buttons are hard plastic and feel very nice. Includes a hard plastic cover that snaps onto the front for protection as well as the back during use. Calculator is relatively deep, with a scientific and statistical functions, a line editor, and multiple memories. Big "replay" button is actually a 4-way cursor control. As you enter a calculation, it appears on the first line exactly as you type it without anything being evaluated. The calculation is only done when you press '=', and then it's done according to the rules of algebra. On a normal calculator, '2+3x4' will show as 20. But on this, you'll get 12. Construction is just good enough; the case is screwed together and so resistant to drops, but the keyboard is not well secured and may collapse over time. Weirdly, the front of case was designed for AAA batteries though the back only takes coin cells. That shouldn't matter, this tech takes so little power that the coin cells should last a very long time. Real-world value is limited, since everyone has a smart phone with much nicer calculator apps available. These are good for classes teaching the basics, or tests where you want to limit device access. ... show more

  • Scientific calculator that uses button cell batteries
As a heads up, these calculators use button cell batteries (the tiny circular ones) that are kind of hard to remove and not typical AA or AAA batteries. These are also not rechargeable and don't have solar power like higher priced variations. However, this 10 pack has really good value for classroom use and the lid is really easy to take off and put back. ... show more

  • Fantastic value calculator set
This is a set of 10 adequate, minimalist, cheap budget scientific calculators. Each has all the advanced functions (other than graphing) that you'd expect, and the screen has 2 lines, with 10+2 digits, to handle large numbers and exponents. The calculator feels lightweight and flimsy, though everything does seem to work. There is a separate sliding cover to protect the buttons when not in use. There is no solar panel, nor a hatch to replace the battery - I imagine you'd need to unscrew the back to get at the internal battery, or maybe you're expected to just throw it away and get a new one. There is a very minimal page of instructions in tiny print. You are expected to understand all the mathematical functions yourself, and figure out how to use the buttons on your own. Fortunately, the layout is generally fairly standard, so this isn't too huge of a task, though I do prefer it when a proper manual is included. What's truly awe-inspiring is the price - you are paying just a couple of dollars each for fully functional scientific calculators that you can easily find sold individually on Amazon for many times the price. Sure they're cheaply made - they work, and you're paying so little that if you lose or break one, who cares? This is by far the best way to supply a whole class that I've seen, effective and budget-friendly. Recommended! ... show more
