These have an adjustment so when you leave it on full dim, the LEDs they're controlling start up and don't flicker. I didn't realize how much I kinda hated those old dial-type dimmers. These look 100% better and just make more sense. Great brightness adjustment. Wired up nicely with no trouble, I did single pole. I love the dimmer slide design along the bottom instead of down the side. Makes for less issues when slapping the switch on or off, the slider is more out of the way and less likely to be adjusted by accident. Great working dimmer switch! ... show more

I bought these because i needed a thin unit to fit into the not so deep boxes in the house. I tried them with a mixed pile of different old lights, and couldn't control them well, or worse could hear them making high pitched noise. But when i got a box of new bulbs they worked great, and i could adjust the threshold dial, to get them to turn on at a very dim setting. So instead of using lights that need a 30$ lutron dimmer. These 9$ dimmers work well with a 2$ newer bulb(feit dimmable, color adjustable) ... show more

For side by side switches you will have to cut the vertical inward aluminum tabs off to be able to align with switch cover and mount flush. I did it with dykes. THERE Absolutely should be instructions to this effect to avoid having to wrestle this thing and pull it in and out to get it to fit. The media could not be loaded. Background: After purchasing dimmable LED lights, to replace my incandescent lights, when dimming the LEDs they would blink instead of dim. Since my light switch were old (about 13 years) I decided to replace the dimming switches before returning the lights. The fixtures now operate absolutely flawlessly. The single cover plate, which comes with the dimmer, is slightly shorter, and also thinner/flimsier, than a typical cover plate. This is not really a problem unless someone painted around the old plates without removing them first then you might have to do a paint touch up or, just buy new plates or reuse your old one. Installation of these dimmers was easy and straightforward provided you identify the hot/common wire prior to removing the old switch. For those who have not worked with 3-way switches before, the diagram used in the instructions is just ONE (most common) of several ways a three-way switch might be wired. If your switch does not have a 14/2 (or could be 12/2) wire coming in and a 14/3 going out, as depicted in the diagram and, instead, have just one 14/3 wire coming in, do not assume the black wire is the hot or common. IN my case it was a white wire that needed to be attached to the switches black wire. SO, in short, just take note of which wires go to your old switch: connect the black wire of this new switch, to whatever wire was connected to the black terminal/screw on your old switch and the other two traveler wires, to this switches red wires you will then be all set .. Update: I updated this to 5 star because I purchased two name Brand switches for my guest bedroom and bath. Even being a name brand, they did not have a dimmer adjustment screw like these do. While they worked with incandescent lights, when I put LEDs in, the lights would turn off about halfway through the throw of the dimmer switch and, there was no way to adjust the dimmer like these switches have. ... show more

The dimming works well with my multiple led lights. The inside of the switch contains a solid plastic box containing the guts and then coming out of it wires to connect with wire caps to the wiring. This could mean there’s not enough space inside the outlet box to fit this switch - the box takes up space and adding wire caps takes up more space. If you can fit it all in, no problem. Loses one more star because the toggle switch doesn’t have a good click to it. ... show more
