No smell, that i like it.The mattress is medium firm but still has enough softness from the gel memory foam so it doesn’t feel hard. My son says it’s comfortable and he sleeps through the night without complaining about his back uncomfortable. This mattress ended up being way better than I expected. It came rolled up in a box, popped it open, and it expanded pretty fast. There was barely any smell, which was nice. It’s medium-firm but still really comfortable. Supportive enough that my back feels good in the morning, but not so firm that it feels stiff. I don’t feel pressure on my hips or shoulders, and it doesn’t make you feel stuck in the foam. It also sleeps pretty cool compared to other memory foam mattresses I’ve tried. I cut open the box and it popped right out. It set very nicely after taking it out of the plastic, took only a few hours for it to puff up. My husband helped me put it on the bedframe. It's nice and firm, that I wake up refreshed, no joint pain, allaigns my spine, no funky smells, and was very cheap for the quality!
