[Edit Feb 13, 2023 - see other updates at end] The item listing is mostly correct now that they've removed the Android version number, which said Android 11 when I bought my unit. I still cannot get Wireless Auto to work, which makes me suspect that part of the listing is still deceptive. METEESER Store customer service is trying really hard to make sure I'm happy, even offering a refund and a $30 gift card to delete this review. I have double-checked my review for fairness and accuracy, edited a bit to be more clear, and will not be removing it. [Original January 25, 2023 review] This is actually a rather good unit for the price, however it seems as if the manufacturer and/or seller is lying about the Android version - THERE IS EVIDENCE THAT IT IS NOT Android 11 - The security updates system reports that it is running Android 9.1 (with Kernel version 3.19.79 and Java VM 2.10) tl;dr: An okay unit that will do the job, just don't trust it with important info or expect updates etc. It appears that someone hacked the Android version number to have it *report* it is version 11. This seems to be a confusing or DECEPTIVE move. Since I wanted to install other apps and did not like their default launcher (more later), I could see the old-style navigation icon (top of screen in photo) that were changed in Android 10. You can confirm this by accessing the "Security" tab of the System setting, where they seem to have overlooked hacking the version number there. You will also see that the last security update was Feb 1, 2020 - there will be no further security updates to this unit - Android 9 has passed its end of life and gets no more updates. (Tech info: Build number seems non-standard, starting with "D02022..." and the API level is 30. System report release date of Aug 21, 2017 - so this is all odd and conflicting!) Since this unit does not seem to be getting ANY more security updates, do *not* trust this device with *any* sensitive information. While it is unlikely to be hacked, though much more vulnerable than a true Android 11 device that still gets updated. All that said, this is a good unit for the $$$. The back-up camera is better than the one that came on my 2017 Promaster. The screen is reasonably bright and crisp, though the resolution is no higher than most 7" units. It sounds as good or better than the factory radio, especially since there's an equalizer to help with vehicle acoustic and the factory speaker quirks. The stock "launcher" cannot be customized to make it acceptable. I replaced it with the Nova 7 launcher that I also used on my last 4 phones. Nova 7 has *lots* of customizability, therefore a bit of a learning curve - worth it for me, others may want something simpler. After stripping out a lot of other useless apps, I not have everything working great except for an occasional benign notification of a sound system app error - audio still all works fine. The Android Auto interface works great via USB - Bluetooth Wireless Android Auto won't work for me on two different phones, include one running Android 12. I think the Bluetooth software is the problem. I also cannot get headphones to work on this unit - apparently they did not expect this when they set up the Bluetooth profile - this unit can only *receive* audio for other devices, it isn't set up to send audio to BT speakers or headphones. This only a minor annoyance and understandable why they did that - most car stereos are the same. This unit does have a fairly decent 4-core CPU and enough memory for what is really needed. So far, all the apps I want to run are okay, though a few are stuck sideways in portrait mode. The Android Auto interface app, ZLink is functional (only via USB), albeit a bit quirky issues with customization / settings not taking effect as expected. Yet it does work well enough for me to navigate to our destination while also playing from the huge music library stored on the phone. The other info on my phone seems safe enough, although I'm using an old phone with financial info stripped out of it just to be sure. Note that this unit did not work well for me using the phone for Internet access - I have a 4g cell modem hotspot WiFi that makes this unit acceptable in Internet access. It works in a pinch as it's barely passable for Web browsing. The main maps and weather apps work great and it can make Google Voice calls. The supplied documentation is almost helpful enough, though some DIY and Googling will be required. It will not plug and play in my Promaster and since I'm not replacing the Canbus functions of the factory stereo, I'll need to leave the factory plug mostly intact so I can temp plug in old radio to set the dash clock. I'll also have a "Canbus error" flashing odometer - we'll see how annoying that is. So, for the money, you get basically good functioning with lots of quirks and no security updates. For me, it's not worth the hassle to send back and pay more for a real Android 11+ head unit. Other people may not be as accommodating. Many folks will be happy with it as it comes out of the box. You decide! I'll update this review somewhere down the with experiences "on the road" [Update January 27, 2023] The seller FuHeShun Store contacted me with the following message: "We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience regarding your order and would like to offer you a full refund for your purchase. If you would like a full refund: please reply 'Full refund'. We hope that you give us another chance. Thank you very much. Best regards, METEESER" It's unclear to me if I need to return the unit...?? However, this appears that they would be responsive to support requests. So, I changed to replace "don't expect support!" with "don't expect security updates!" I told them that I will keep the unit, asked them to point out any untrue statements in this review, and that I'm willing to change this review if they update their listing to be accurate. I'm actually happy with the unit and the price I paid. The only problem of note is that I had to remove The Weather Channel app as it was sideways and started bogging down the unit. The widget stopped showing the radar map, so it was no longer desirable. This isn't an indictment of the unit as much as a "heavy" poorly-written weather app. Google weather works great, just lacks a widget. The 1-star review is for LYING - this isn't an acceptable way to do business (or public service). ... show more

    • Good but kinda deceiving unit and programing.
Im just here to confirm what Earl Daniels wrote on another review. Its not really Android 11. As the other reviewer mentioned. Its probably 10 or older. It has not been updated since 2020 and you will not be able to update it since the system is locked and will not allow any updates of apps or system. Its not a bad unit for the price, but it has a few downsides. These are the worst ones for me: 1- It does not have "native" Android auto or Car Play. It uses the same app that other cheap radios use to force the connection. The problem is that it is an older version of the app (cannot update) that is very glitchy and will refuse to auto connect through cable and will not even connect through bluetooth. 2- The stock launcher (the homepage you see when you turn the unit on) cannot be modified or updated either. You cannot add, remove or update any apps or widgets or anything to this launcher. 3- Additionally, many of the most basic functions like changing brightness are also locked. 4- It comes with 2 USB connectors, NONE of them will charge a newer phone like an S21. It drains the battery faster than it charges. And I have tested this with 2 phones and 2 original Samsung data cables. As I mentioned, it is a decent unit for the price otherwise (good camera, responsive screen, etc) Just have in mind that you will have to work around a few issues while using it. ... show more

I bought it for my Ford E 350 stereo replacement. Only concern I had is screen response time is slow. Other than that it was ok. It has lots of future. Wireless Apple car play , android car play ,Backup camera , gps. It’s definitely worth the money. For money wise it’s definitely a deal. If you don’t care about screen response time I can recommend it ... show more

The media could not be loaded. All of a sudden I can't get the radio to do anything. Sometimes I get a little sound but nothing else. Can't control anything, can't change anything. Trying to get a hold of customer service to find out if this is under warranty seeing as it's less than 6 months old. I will update and let you know how I get on with customer service. If my previous experiences with Amazon related customer service is anything to go by then I can't see it turning out well. We'll see I haven't begun the installation yet but I had to write a review off of first glance. This is a sweet looking stereo. Very well packaged very sleek looking, modern, clean. Wow is my first thoughts of this item. Let's hope the installation goes as well ... show more

This is an amazing car stereo. Easy to install, easy to use, and looks incredible. The screen is sharp and colorful. All the features work as they should. I installed in my 2018 Promaster van and am very happy. All this at a great price.
