  • Perfect
I bought this primarily for clair de lune and I'm glad I did. It is definitely difficult, but with practice I know I will get it, and what I have mastered so far sounds beautiful and just like the original piece. I haven't done much with the other songs yet but they seem to be of about the same difficulty. All songs are familiar to the ear. Perfect for an intermediate player, or someone like me who has played on and off for years without much formal training. You can figure it out on your own but it will take some practice and patience. Arrangements like these give me the motivation to keep it up! On a side note- I'm a big fan of Amazon's Free Super Saver Shipping deal, but if your order does not qualify you will be paying a standard shipping fee. Check the "other new and used offers" and select a different seller with a lower shipping charge. I saved a few bucks doing this. Just thought I'd share in case it helps anyone! ... show more

  • Absolutely Perfect
This book gets 5 stars because it is exactly what it claimed to be! I am a piano teacher and it is difficult sometimes to order music online because you can't really look inside. Often I get stuck with bad arrangements, or find that I have paid a lot of money for illustrations and photos but little music. This book is a collection of ten classical pieces including compositions by Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, Chopin and Rachmaninoff. And that's all it is: just the music, no muss, no fuss. The pages are clear, easy to read and and the simple binding makes it easy as can be to perch on a music stand. ... show more

  • This is a great collection
I have been looking for an arrangement of Rhapsody in Blue that wasn't too hard for me to learn for a long time. This arrangement is challenging for me but I can actually do it, and it sounds like the song it is supposed to sound like so it is worth the effort. I only took two years of piano when I was a teenager, although I memorized songs that were much harder than what I could read. Still, this is doable for me with some work and a little help from a more experienced pianist on some of the timing. ... show more

  • Good for intermediate players
Bought it mainly for Moonlight Sonata. That is the original arrangement, but it seems like some of the others may have been slightly simplified, which is a bummer. It seems great for intermediate players and those who are sort of in-between beginner and intermediate. It's bound like a book, though, so it doesn't lay flat on a stand. ... show more

  • Great selection of popular and familiar pieces
Perfect selection. I’ve been sitting back down at the piano again, and to get myself back into the swing of things I decided to learn some of the better known classical pieces (particularly Claire de Lune). The level of difficulty is moderate, but the familiarity of the pieces helps me read the music a lot faster. It feels good to be playing again! ... show more

  • Simple classics, perfect for beginners or those who have been away from the piano for some time.
This is a great book. I hadn't played the piano in over 25 years and had forgotten a lot. This book allowed me to ease myself in slowly and my confidence is growing daily. You need to get the spiral bound version though, it is so easy to use.

  • If I can learn at age 75, anyone can!!
I'm learning to play Clair De Lune on the piano, that I've longed to play all my life. I'm looking forward to completing the book.

  • A good Buy.
I like this collection. The music is easy to read. The print is clear. I also like the variety of composers and pieces. I am an intermediate pianist and find this to have been a good buy for me.
