  • Easy to play with full music sound
Format: Paperback
This book was exactly what I was looking for. Great music, that while it was fairly easy to play, still sounded good. Some “easy” piano music is too thin in sound. This music was arranged very well to be enjoyed by player and listener.

  • Classic Rock Sheet Music
Format: Paperback
Love this series of books. Not too simple, but simple enough to sight read and enjoy playing the music. Love it. My husband even enjoys hearing me play.

  • ... the songs are so simplified they don't sound particularly like the song anymore
Format: Paperback
Some of the songs are so simplified they don't sound particularly like the song anymore. It's more like easy piano music that *feels* like famous songs. But in any case, if you are at the level of beginner, they are fun songs to play and since they are so simple, it is easy and fun to change them once you get more comfortable. I didn't take a star off for that. It's advertised as "easy" and to be able to play songs by people who are not beginners when you are a beginner involves sacrifice obviously. I took the star off because of the book binding. It can be very difficult to turn pages/keep the book open and stable. For some songs I have to completely learn one page at a time because I need clips or something to keep the pages open. But hey, it's not that bad, and the book isn't that expensive. ... show more

  • Great piano music book
Format: Paperback
This book has a great selection of classic rock songs and the sheet music seems accurate. It's not limited to songs actually featuring the piano. You are playing mostly guitar and/or vocal chords and melodies. Recommended.

  • Great book. Awesome songs!
Format: Paperback
This is a fantastic songbook. Arrangements put together very well. I use with midi backround and most are in same or almost same key. Great for basic arrangements to add your own touch to. I highly recommend this book for purchase.

  • Songs really are easy to play
Format: Paperback
I have bought other piano music books in the past that claim to be "easy" but are not for me - I'm a beginner. This one has some songs that are easier than others, but there are several that I'm able to play. It is fun to be able to play Stairway to Heaven and Faithfully. I'm enjoying this book a lot. ... show more

  • This is my favorite music book so far
Format: Paperback
This is my favorite music book so far. As an adult beginner pianist at about Level 2, I am enjoying practicing sight reading with these songs. Nights in White Satin, The Sound of Silence, Bridge Over Troubled Waters, and Faithfully are my favorites so far. This "easy piano" (simple key signature) approach allows me to play with feeling and embellish with additional notes once I have played the piece once or twice through. It makes the struggle of learning to play the piano a real joy as I can produce music that sounds beautiful. I highly recommend this book. ... show more

  • Classic Rock? Not so much...
Format: Paperback
I’m sorry I purchased this book. I own other books by Dan Coates and I really like them but this selection just doesn’t get it for me. Be careful of the written reviews because I think they’re misleading. It’s clear that folks are reviewing different books and not this one. That aside, the couple of arrangements I’ve tried are ok but nothing special. ... show more
