  • raw vegan, fruitarian, gluten free version of malted milk and corn flakes
Size: 16 Ounce (Pack of 1)
It's been very hard to find a replacement for malted milk going vegan. However, I found it with this! Yes, it doesn't mix right away (you have to let it sit). No, the powder by itself doesn't taste like anything except corn flakes. It doesn't matter to me, as I make it work. It tastes like orange juice when I mix it into water and eventually mixes and that's all that matters. People should expect something not perfectly matching their expectations with a natural product. If they want something they're supposed to have, that's why artificial everything exists. It's time we start looking at what nature tastes like, so we get used to that and understand it. I don't want solid food anyway - my parents pushed me onto it and it's done nothing but ruin my stomach. It's the liquid diet that's served me and continues to. However, I like the clumps - it gives variations in texture. Sometimes I eat it by itself to remind me of corn flakes that I don't eat anymore due to trying to go raw vegan - the high temperatures cooked at isn't healthy - PAH's. It didn't work when I was making my drink - it's better to go with real oj to get muscles pumping in conjunction with the nutribiotic rice protein. That said - I like drinking the oj powder when real oj's not around - as it's hard to access and expensive too! If you have real oranges around you - use that for juice preferably or buy orange juice. Maybe add this powder in to give it a boost - I didn't try that yet. I use it in combination with these for a meal: preferably real oj, but freeze dried OJ powder is ok - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09GBNKHVB?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details NutriBiotic – Mixed Berry Rice Protein - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00014DRN2?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details Pine Pollen - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MDLP29M?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details red berry opowder + prebiotics (KaraMD Revive Reds) - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0774ZT2H9?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details COQ10 - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B098ZW1BLM?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details vegan collagen production - via bamboo - https://www.amazon.com/Garden-Life-Organic-Antioxidants-Probiotics/dp/B09KCLK45F/ ... show more

  • May be "from orange juice," but is in no way powdered OJ.
Size: 16 Ounce (Pack of 1)
Eight ounces of orange juice contains 2 tablespoons of solids when reduced to a powder. Two tablespoons of this powder reconstituted with 8 oz of water produces a thin orangish liquid with minimal orange flavor that is overly sweet rather than "sweet and tart." I would judge whatever small amount of orange juice it was made from was heavily cut with maltodextrin and then likely had some sugar or other sweetener added as well. Unless you are dying to add some more ultraprocessed food to your diet and want some that is fairly tasteless, I would give this a pass. However, if you do buy it, I would note it mixes quite easily if done the usual best way of reconstituting a powder. Measure out your powder, add a small amount of water, just enough to let you stir it into a thick paste, then add another small amount and mix again to get a thick liquid. At that point, add the remaining volume of water to reconstitute, mixing well as you do so. A wire whisk is nice, but vigorous stirring with just a pair of chopsticks will do it. ... show more

  • Great taste but not for beverages!
Size: 16 Ounce (Pack of 1)
I purchased this for a bit of added flavor in my water and other beverages. DON’T!! It may be awesome in baking etc. but it does NOT dissolve well, at all. In fact, it turns into little hard lumps in liquids.

  • Dissolves slowly, subtle orange
Size: 16 Ounce (Pack of 1)
I wanted an alternative to using orange juice to flavor beverages. This is not orange juice powder, it is orange powder. It is not sweet. It has a subtle orange flavor, slightly tart. It has no additives. It dissolves slowly but does dissolve completely. There are no instructions which is why I took one star off. Selling a product without any instructions is just stupid. I experimented with hot vs cold water and found hot water dissolves in half the time. To dissolve 2 tablespoons in 1 litre of cold water it took approximately 5 minutes. I found it took 3 to 4 Tablespoons to flavor a litre of water strong enough to give a good orange base in a cocktail. I now mix a litre and leave in the refrigerator. I use an ounce to flavor my daily drinking water as plain water gets boring and I don't want to add artificial sweetners. I have added it to whipped cream. I sprinkled the powder over the fresh liquid cream and allowed it to rehydrate before whipping. It worked good. I do not make smoothies so I do not know how it blends. Having it powdered means less freezer and fridge area taken up with orange juice. ... show more

  • Dehydrated orange juice
Size: 16 Ounce (Pack of 1)
I have no idea how this was made. My guess is, reduced pressure drying. The water is removed, and unfortunately, the volatile essential oils leave too. The essential oils are important to the taste and odor. If this was freeze dried, maybe it would be tastier. You get all the rest of the orange juice. Fiber, carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals, and some of the flavor. I was hoping for more. The powder is a bit hard to reconstitute with water. I see no directions about the powder to water ratio. It absorbs water slowly, and disperses, if you give it some time. A blender helps. In the end, I added... Vitamin C powder for tartness, some sugar for sweetness, and orange "KoolAid" for enhanced flavor. Then I had expensive orange drink mix, that tasted pretty good. At least as good as cheap orange drink mix, maybe a bit better. The powder stores well, so food storage maybe a use for it. Some people have said it is good for baking. I may try that next. Nice option if you have a use for it. ... show more
