    • A Good First Piano Book of Popular Tunes Worth Banging the Keys to!
I bought both this version to the Rolling Stone's Piano classics and the second volume as well. Honestly, I bought it based on the variety of songs offered and was captivated by "Hotel California" and "Wish You Were Here". I'm an Eagles and a Floyd fanatic so I jumped on it when I read the many positive reviews about how easy it was for beginners to play the piano using this book. I'm not disappointed either. Again, I encountered the same problem with the binding on this volume as with the second volume--it's far too tight and almost impossible to keep the pages from folding closed, and honestly, I've nearly run a car over this thing to keep it open. So I removed the pages, punched them with a three hole punch and put them into a binder where the pages now flip beautifully. Also, please don't believe for one minute there are five hundred songs in this book. If you look at the fine print on the title it says "39 Selections From the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time". Besides, 500 songs for $20 would be one gonga of a deal and a bit too good to be true. The print is super large and very dark which makes it wonderful for the antiqued few who have vision probs (like myself). They also include all the versions in the vocals, which is an additional plus. There's a nice variety of rock 'n roll songs throughout which definitely bring back fond memories. This would be beneficial for any beginning pianist, young or old, and would even be a lot of fun for those experienced few that just wanna bang out some rockin' tunes and sing along. ... show more

    • Great collection
I am new (still learning) to piano and wanted a collection of sheet music to play that would be fun (funner than the public domain stuff that is out there for free). This was good buy for a great collection of easy to follow and not too advance sheet music. The lyrics are also included and the music is not over complicated where people still learning cannot follow it and play it. The music is fun and is more rewarding when you know the song that you are playing. I am really happy with this book and really enjoy playing some hit songs. It is fun and when you hear the song you are playing and recognize it is a great feeling! I highly recommend this for anyone learning piano and wanting to play something they know and get that awesome feeling of hearing a popular song come out of the piano. The only thing I would change is the binding. I wish they had the binding that had that wrapping (like binders) that allows the book to sit open completely on the music stand. This book has to be really bent out to make it stay open on the music stand. However, it is doable and for the price I am not complaining!! ... show more

    • Easy and FUN piano sheet music with song lyrics
Easy to play great hit songs. This is a wonderful song book from some famous artists. I like the simple score write in big print. However when I turn the pages, it slows me down. It would have been nice to be in a spiral bending and fold out sheets of complete music for each score. Most of the time, they did not have any sharps or flats that you had to remember for the treble or bass clef. It would have been nice to have a CD along with this music to her the actual performance and understand the timing. I played a few of these songs yesterday on my Roland F120 digital grand piano, when the music arrived. It sounds wonderful and was easy and fun to play. I will have years of job playing this music. ... show more
