First of all I want to say that the extension cable is awesome! Truly heavy duty and perfect for outdoor use. The fact that “ Iron Forge cable” was veteran owned company was a determining factor in my purchase over another brand. It even had an American flag on the front which I thought meant made in USA. This extension cord is fine for most of it's intended purpose, and works well for me in that regard. It does not, however, work as advertised. The cord is advertised as having lighted plugs on both ends, and does, in fact look as though they do light when looking at it in person. Like others have noted in these reviews, mine do not. Some state that one doesn't work; others both, but neither of mine do. This was a feature that was important to me, as I wanted to monitor power to the mini fridge that I use on my dock. The power extension works well, and the cord seems to be well-made, but not having that feature is something I really needed. If that's important to you, you might want to look elsewhere. UPDATE: This is my bad. I obviously didn't read the description well enough, and upon reading it again, I saw that only the female end of the cord is lighted, unlike other cords that I have that light on both ends. While this doesn't meet my personal requirements, it is not the fault of the seller, and I must shout out to them for responding and note that customer service was great and was immediately all over it. I have updated my review to four stars, as it is a great extension cord. ... show more

Its rugged and handles a 1500 watt electric space heater very well without the female connector plug overheating and charring with extended use. The neon indicator light is useful in indicating that the cord is energized.
