Bought this to reach an outdoor outlet to EV charge my Tesla and it works great. I connect the extension cord to my Tesla mobile connector and plug it into the car. It consistently draws 12A and the cord does not overheat or anything. If you're going to be using an extension cord for EV charging, it's recommended that you get at least a 12-gauge cord. This is even better at 10-gauge just for that added peace of mind that nothing will ever fritz out on the outlet you rely on to charge your car. Keep in mind that if you're using it outdoors and your outlets aren't weatherproofed with cover guards, your car might not charge when there's too much moisture outside or when it's raining/overcast. This is not the cord's fault, it's just that there's a built-in failsafe on the Tesla which won't draw power if it detects that there's too much moisture in the air around it. The mobile connector lights will flash red on the "T" part of the logo, which means it's not safe to draw power at the moment.

Yeah, we got this extension cord so that the power goes out and we have to bust out the generator. This extension cord is good good quality it’s thick it’s heavy duty. It’s just what we needed. If you use a cord too small you can burn it up and gets hot. It’s a danger with this one is heavy duty, big strong, sturdy cord there’s no chance of fire because it’s well equipped for the job.

This extension cord is sturdy and well made. If you want or need maximum electrical power to pass from the outlet to your end product, this is a good choice. I bought this as part of my connection between my 30 Amp travel trailer and my 15 Amp house breaker and it was perfect for that purpose.
