The media could not be loaded. Overall: When it comes to safes, I think a decent safe for a good price is a good enough solution. If you are hoping to have this safe be unbeatable, you may want to consider a different option. If you are considering this safe, mounted against a wall somewhere for tax documents, gold, watches, and/or quite a few handguns then this safe is good enough for most applications - decent security, good looking, easy to use. Normally I’d have given this a 4-star rating, but customer service was very responsive in solving the small issues I had upon receiving the safe. So the combination of a good safe for a good price with good customer service earns it the 5-star. The details: When I first received the safe, I was really impressed with how it was packaged. The shipping materials were plenty strong enough with plastic corners and thick styrofoam overlays. There was no damage from normal shipping operations. The exterior looks really nice and the access ports to the key slots are easy to access but clean looking when covered. In order to access them you lightly push on the bottom portion of the cover and then pull it off - they have small magnet mounts to keep them attached (see image). With other safes I have seen there is no external method to power the lock in case of a dead battery situation AND you don’t have access to the keys. This safe comes with an external battery pack that can be used as an extra fail safe measure. I will likely never have to use this technique but in a pinch I could see this design being very useful. The safe comes with integrated battery powered LEDs that activate once the code is input that dimly illuminates each of the cavities - I thought it was kind of a nice touch. Things to consider: The safe has mounting holes on the back side of the safe that are covered by felt. You can easily punch through those and mount the safe against a wall. The only concern you may run into is the spacing between the holes - typical american framing is 16” on center. This safe has mounting holes spaced 9 ⅜” apart. So if you’re mounting it to concrete, brick, or solid wood, then it’s not an issue, but you may need a spanning board if you want to mount it in a typical American house. The safe doors are heavy enough that with an empty safe and both doors open - if the safe is not mounted against a wall - it may tip forward a bit. Mounting this with one screw against a wall will prevent this. The internal shelves can be removed but cannot be adjusted. The shelves are made of fairly thin sheet metal, but would probably be strong enough to handle anything you can reasonably fit in the safe. The lock/unlock ring is made from plastic. This might produce a little heartburn for some, but it also might be considered a safety feature because the unlocking ring will certainly break before an intruder is able to leverage it against the lock. Either way, something to keep in mind when purchasing this safe. When I first used the safe, I found that the lock was not engaging on the top door. I removed the door cover on the back and discovered the locking pin was not quite reaching the locking bar assembly. I simply loosened that assembly and moved it in line with the locking bar assembly (see image). I presume it must have dropped slightly during shipping. Customer service was very responsive in helping me. This issue was not a major problem for me because it was a very simple fix, but still something to keep in mind when purchasing.

Other safes I looked at had cheesy-looking interiors with poor quality and slapped together with some kind of wallpaper-looking material curling up in the corners and just looked very sloppy, but not this one! As you can see from the pictures the fit and finish are excellent and the felt material and build quality is very good. Keypad works well, and it's very nice having separate compartments for different items. The 4.7 cu ft size is quite large and is just what I was looking for.

Love this safe for its size. Very heavy. Other safes are too small. Directions were poor but, it’s not too complicated to figure how to use it. For the price it was perfect for our needs which it is just holding valuable documents and a few other items worth safe keeping but, not all that expensive. It would not hold a monster box of coins but it did hold a mini monster box. Only issue is our friend showed us how easily it was to break into. The alarm sound is not loud at all, if I was on another floor of the house I would not hear it. It does have a back up if battery died. It also has keys. It was perfect for what we needed but, if truly looking for high security, this is not it. Yes, Id buy again. You get what you pay for. I gave it 4 stars because price met most expectations.

First, this safe was much larger than I had imagined. It is also quite heavy. A man could lift it but the size would make it quite awkward to carry off. The instructions to set it up were clear and easy to follow though it did take me a minute or two to figure out where the emergency keyholes were. I don't think this safe is totally waterproof or fireproof either. There is room in each compartment to put in a smaller fireproof lockbox if you would want. This safe is like any locked door....it will keep an honest person honest. A thief will get in no matter what. Value for money, I'd say yes. If you keep expensive jewelry, money, irreplaceable valueables around, then go for a safe that is burgler, fire and waterproof and is so heavy it would take five men to move! UPDATE: For whatever reason, the bottom lock would not engage and stay locked. I contacted the seller and after numerous back and forth emails plus videos showing the problem, the seller contacted me and informed me that the return was past the return date. I explilcitly described the problem, told him/her what steps I had taken to possibly remedy the problem (to no avail) and also followed their instructions on a possible solution. Imagine my disdain and anger when their final email stated that a return for refund or exchange was no longer possible. I felt as though I was strung along until the return date had expired. I was instructed to contact Amazon (a phone number was provided) and I immediately called even though it was just 5am EST. I was put in contact with a gentleman in south Africa and a nicer more professional man you would never find. In record time he solved my problem, a new safe was on it's way, a return of the old safe was super easy and I cannot say enough for Amazon and their help with this matter. I do feel that this seller should be looked at carefully and I don't think it was right that Amazon should have to remedy the problem. As for the safe, so far it's working just fine.
