    • Very good alternative to the cheap alarms.
It's a little hard to tell where the sensitivity zone is, so you have to mess around with pointing it correctly. I liked the options of alarms available and the one that sounds like a dog barking makes me laugh often! A little better quality of sound would be nice but it's acceptable the way it is.

I'm only giving this a 3star because it feels too good to be true! Before i bought this there were some negative reviews that it would only last a few months. I don't know yet but i will update if that is the case. I have no false alarms so far. I did have it being set off by a fox, a cat, a bird and some kids. I don't mind that at all. It works! I will upgrade the stars if it last a year, two years etc. One down side is that it only has one sound (ding-dong). This needs some additional tones not tunes. I have no idea why there are so many songs, I hate the idea if having to hear the same song over and over and over again. update= I've had it for a few months now and love it! Hard to live without. upgrade= 4 stars, If it lasts a year I'll give it 5 years. update = 5 stars! I've had it for almost a year now and couldn't live without it at this point. Never had a false alarm, it works rain or shine. Day or night! It is sensitive and it will go off for animals which allowed me to see foxes, deer, bobcat and our own cat comings. I have it set up in my driveway about 50 ft from the base unit in my house, with about a 5' elevation drop and some bushes, possibly some ground, in between. I have it pointed back towards my garage and parking area, not really any bushes or anything to set off false alarms, sensitivity set to high (appx 30' is the end of where anything is to detect, and I needed to use the highest setting to get that), gets sunlight a good portion of the day. It works well alerting me when cars pull into my driveway, and to warn me of any people walking (or freaking skateboarding!) up my driveway, mostly package deliveries. While I have privacy from my fairly well traveled street, I don't have much once people walk halfway up my driveway, so it's nice to finally know when someone is approaching! It's rained several times since I installed it about 3 weeks ago. I would have preferred a wider field of detection, and more differentiation between the sensitivity settings, but with a little extra work (installed in 3 different locations in the same area, complicated by an approximate 3' elevation drop to end of desired monitoring zone), I was able to position and angle it to suit my needs. I fully charged it before installing, so time will tell how well the solar recharging really works, and if it holds up to the Pacific Northwest climate. I had this in my cart for weeks while shopping for others. I thought for $45 it can’t be that good. I was WRONG! This thing is great! I have a longer driveway and the chime reaches all the way out there every time. I expected to have to charge it by cord due to the location I installed it, but I have not had to charge it once. I am honestly in awe for the price. I would absolutely recommend this to anybody considering a driveway alert. It’s inexpensive, easy to install, and seems to hold a charge well. ... show more

This doesn't detect vehicles all the time. Very disappointed as I am deaf in one ear, I was really counting on this to help me know when someone was approaching the house. It works sometimes and sometimes it doesn't. Will return if it doesn't begin to work correctly. Also, upon opening there was brown dirt/dust on the parts and the instructions have greasy places on them. Makes me wonder if I was sent a returned item to begin with?? ... show more
