This may be fire resistant for a short time, but it's not fireproof. There is no lining, just metal on the inside. If the metal is glowing, then everything inside would also be in short time. This will work for my purposes, and the price wasn't bad. I may add fireproof bags or 3/4" drywall to the inside to make it more heat resistant. Haven't had any fires in 62 years, not planning on any, but I'll add the extra protection instead of pressing my luck. At first I couldn't figure out the little box with the power cord, so I came back to the seller's page. Now I know it's an external power source in case the internal batteries die. ... show more
