If you are working with 12 volt batteries powering an inverter, then you need very short cables and this needs to be the smallest wire you use. This is NOT 1-gauge wire, it is 1/0 AWG which is larger than 1-gauge. You can find a plethora of matching crimp-on lugs here on Amazon so you can have the exact cable pieces you need, no longer do you need to settle for pre-made and often undersize offerings. I received a 10-foot piece of red and a 10-foot piece of black in 1/0 AWG size. The cost per foot is fair and the fast delivery can't be beat. Lets face it, when you're hooking up high-amperage DC circuits the connection between the battery and inverter is the last place you should skimp. The fast Amazon Prime delivery gets you all the cable you need to light up that shiny new 2000 watt inverter. I use a ratcheting cutter to cleanly slice off pieces of this cable which fit neatly into high-current copper lugs. After trying lower priced crimping tools I moved up to a hydraulic crimper which works fantastic with this cable and makes totally professional crimps. I bought the cutter and crimper here on Amazon. The jacket on this cable is heavy duty rubber. I don't like the smell of the rubber so I hung it out on my porch overnight to air it out, now it's fine. It's joy working with this cable, this product is professional in every sense. Good Power To You!

My battery relocation needed about 16 feet, based on where I wanted to mount it in the trunk of my RX8. If I kept it on the left side of the trunk, 15 feet would have been great with some to spare. I needed to buy a separate 5 foot section of this to complete my project, but luckily the 15 foot section made it to my trunk mounted circuit breaker perfectly fine. Worked great and very flexible.

Always hesitant to buy wire based on a a size I need only to find the cheap chinesium cable in not the correct size at all. This cable is what it says it is. Very flexible and easy to strip. Using this from my batteries to my inverter for my solar generator.

This review is for the 1/0 gauge, but I've bought and used this wire from 8 gauge up to 2/0 gauge, and always been happy with it. It is indeed 100% copper as advertised, braided and very easy to maneuver compared to the thicker-strand heavy gauge wire. The insulation appears to be of high quality and applying pure-copper ring terminal crimps to this wire is easy and creates a perfect connection. As you can see in the image, my leftover scrap box is full of various lengths of various gauges!

This wire is great. Super heavy and solid copper. If you're doing any type of job that requires a lot of flexibility; getting around tight corners and changing direction, then this is the wire that will do it. Easy to cut (I used a metal cut off wheel) and connect lugs on the ends. I don't see any reason why this won't handle your job for multiple decades.

I previously had smaller solar battery bank wires that would get hot when attempting to run around 2000 watts and figured I needed to do something about it. This 1/0 did the trick and now everything stay nice and cool. I also like the flexibility and the ease of adding lugs. Do your self a favor and save some money by using the proper wiring the first time. It might seem expensive at first but it's cheaper than replacing the first set of thin wires and the possibility of things actually catching fire from improper gauge wire. For example I did a battery test draw a couple of months ago using a 12v inverter and inadequate battery cables and the cables got so hot that I smelled rubber burning and shut it down immediately. Very Very HOT! I went to 24V inverter which brings down the amps and keeps things cooler and purchased these excellent welding cables and sure glad I did. Peace of mind!
