I ordered this safe as a small secure storage. The size was what I was looking for and I loved the idea that the page showed it as fireproof & waterproof. Now I'm under no illusion that a safe at around $80 is going to protect valuables in a flood or in a total firestorm, but was expecting something that could withstand a little heat & possibly sprinklers. But this claim is nonsense on it's face, if simply that the 4 holes in the back would not protect from anything. I received the item which was a replacement for one I received a week earlier that would not open. The safe is surprisingly lightweight, another not-so-good indicator. The first thing I noticed it that the name badge was not there, just sticky goo. Did it fall off or is this actually used, I have no idea. There was a ding in the top, I suspect it was dropped at some point. I then opened the safe and first thing I noticed was no shelf as advertised. At that point I changed my mind. I understand very well you get what you pay for. I'm not expecting a high end safe, however this is not even close to being worth $80. I will most likely be returning. ... show more

It's nice to be able to store important papers and pictures money and other valuables in something as well made and secure as this safe. It's light in weight but there's no way you're breaking in to it and it's fireproof. I lost everything in a fire in 2008 and you never realize what a hassel it is to replace those things. like you can't get a license w/o a birth certificate or a birth certificate w/o a license as an example. Pleasantly surprised as inside is bigger than I thought it would be. It is nice and obviously sturdy. It has a “secret” key access as well as the combination code which is nice. 2 keys included. The directions are short and sweet and code was easy to reprogram. I haven’t installed it with bolts yet but it fits on my closet shelf beautifully. I’d buy another one if I needed it. ... show more
