This safe is very light. If you are just needing something to keep an honest thief honest, this will do the job. I would not use it to store anything with much value or to store important papers. The walls are very thing and would not hold up to a sustained attack or attempt to open. If you just need something to store, say medicine in or a place to keep small items away from a toddler, this is perfect but for anything beyond that, I can not recommend this for that. ... show more

I've had a few safes over the years, and this is a nice little safe for just keeping stuff locked up around the house. It wouldn't be my choice for serious document and valuable storage. It's not fire safe and seems like it would be pretty easy to break open if somebody really wanted to get inside. But for keeping my kid out of stuff he doesn't need to touch, this works! You can set your own passcode pretty easily. Took my about 15 seconds to do it. My safe included batteries plus a key to open the door. Very easy to use. Not too heavy. Door locks securely. I picked this up to have a way to secure things when kids are around. Honestly, that's about all it's good for. Thin metal and the turn knob is almost laughably flimsy. The safe came with clear instructions so programming was easy. It's a bit smaller than I expected but enough room to store passport, jewelry and cash. I like that it can be opened with the key or code.

This safe is super small and doesnt weigh anything. You will have to bolt it to the ground to keep anyone from stealing it. Probally better for kids vs. storing your valuables.

The media could not be loaded. The first impression I got from this safe was how light it is. When I got the package I was expecting a 10-15 pound safe with thick walls, or something like that. When I felt how light it is, that was a first warning sign. The safe comes packaged with instructions in broken but understandable English, and a poly bag of parts including 2 round security keys, batteries, lock down bolts and a rubber cover for the key hole. First off, this safe has a very thin wall construction. There are seams all around which could easily be defeated with a sharp chisel or screwdriver and hammer. The face plate and knob also have gaps which could be easily exploited the same way.I was able to easily pry both with light fingernail pressure. The thick plate behind the door is all plastic which is easily cracked. The safe is initially opened with the security key provided. Once opened 4xAA batteries must be installed in order to setup and use the combo lock. Where should I begin? The supplied batteries are a joke. They are so soft you could squeeze them between your fingers with moderate pressure. The brand name "Bursto" is not a good name for batteries. I actually felt these batteries would burst during use so I put 4 of my own AA batteries which are much more robust (Robusto would be a better name than Bursto for batteries). Once batteries are installed, press the red button, and set the combo on the front panel which I did. I closed/locked the safe and tested the new combo which worked - once. After that the safe would not open even after a few attempts which locked me out. I tried resetting the combo several times, but it followed the same pattern each time. The new combo would only work one time. In practical use it's probably best to leave the batteries out and just use the supplied keys. What good is this safe for then? Only for casual, temporary security, lets say in a small office setting. For example, the payroll/HR person could temporarily lock payroll checks until ready for distribution. I would not recommend it for overnight or long term security. The safe should be locked down with the supplied bolts, but even then would only be a light deterrent to being carried away. A crowbar could easily tear it from the floor or wall. Secrecy would also be the best protection for this safe - out of sight, or behind a fake wall for example. It is also important to note this is not a fire or media safe, and there is no seal against flooding either as the holes and seams would easily allow water in.
